How to Spawn Night’s Maw – All Requirements
To spawn Night’s Maw in Wayfinder, players will need to fulfill the following requirements:
- Be on the “Wish Upon a Star” quest – While you can fight him while not on the quest, you need to have the quest if you want to spawn the boss yourself.
- Get enough Wurm Bait – Find Wurm Bait in the chests that you can dig up in the Highlands and place it at the pillars where Night’s Maw is located. You will need 3x Wurm Bait in total.
If you can’t place the bait, it’s a common bug and the only potential solution is to leave and come back a few times.
If you have fulfilled both requirements but still can’t get Night’s Maw to spawn, there’s one more thing to keep in mind: Night’s Maw can spawn and be fought only once every three hours per server.
Therefore, if another group of players fought this boss an hour ago, you won’t be able to make it spawn and you’ll need to wait. However, there’s no way to know how long you’ll need to wait; it could be a few minutes or two and a half hours.
Your best bet is traveling to Skylight and then returning to the Highlands a few times to see if it can be spawned. If it still can’t, I recommend doing something else and returning after an hour or two.

Wish Upon a Star Quest Guide – Completion Rewards
After beating Night’s Maw in Wayfinder, you can expect the following rewards:
- Glimmering Verdant Spectra
- Gloomstone Shard
- Vestige of Niss’ Steel
