All Characters Ranked in Yet Another Zombie Survivors
Each character comes with unique abilities, weapons, and a Team Leader perk that will significantly affect how they play. Without further delay, here are all characters in YAZS ranked from worst to best.
6. Ghost
The Ghost is the weakest character in Yet Another Zombie Survivors primarily due to his melee range. While he is great for dealing with common zombies, players will have a hard time killing bosses without getting dangerously close.
Additionally, his weapon upgrades are not as strong as you’d hope. Even though he can make his Katana a ranged weapon, it will still have low damage and attack speed.
Overall, I recommend avoiding the Ghost from your team if you want to try out hardcore mode.
5. Huntress
The Huntress is a unique character that has high damage and mediocre attack speed.
While she’s great in the early game as she can one-shot zombies, her final weapon upgrades aren’t worth it. Frost arrows don’t deal enough damage and Explosive Arrows take way too long to explode.
Nevertheless, her abilities can be useful as they offer solid AoE damage and increased Crit Rate Chance.
4. Medic
The Medic is in a weird spot. She has the best supportive abilities in the game that are ideal for Endless and Hardcore mode, but also the worst weapon in the game.
Her weapon becomes ok only when upgraded twice and even then, there are way better weapons overall. However, her abilities offer amazing utility in the form of life steal and health regeneration.
If her weapon gets buffed, which I expect it to be, we could even see Medic becoming the best character in YAZS.
3. Tank
The Tank is a great character in Yet Another Zombie Survivors as he has solid AoE damage and an amazing weapon.
Specifically, the best weapon for the Tank is the Rocket Launcher as it can take down hordes of enemies within seconds. The Minigun is also a great option if you want lower damage but a higher rate of fire.
In terms of abilities, the Saw Blade doesn’t deal enough damage and the Mines are fairly inconsistent, but his Bombing Strike offers high AoE damage.
2. Engineer
The Engineer is the king of AoE damage in YAZS and is great for keeping enemies at bay. All three of his abilities deal AoE damage and his Energy Shield is top-notch for running through hordes of enemies and watching them die from the shield’s damage.
His Tesla weapon is amazing but the other upgrades (Blaster & Laser) aren’t worth it. Thus, I recommend staying with the Tesla and banishing the other items from your run.
1. SWAT
The best character in Yet Another Zombie Survivors is the SWAT as his kit has a bit of everything.
The Assault Rifle is the best weapon in the game due to its high damage and fire rate, while his perk reduces Reload Speed of all allies by 10%.
The Helicopter Strike and Grenade abilities offer AoE damage and help you keep enemies at bay, while the Automatic Turret can deal amazing damage, especially when you also have the Assault Rifle.

I don’t know if they majorly patched things since you wrote this but your last 3 are the top 3 strongest atm.
A lot of updates have been released since the time of writing this. I’d love to go back and give them a try. Do you have any specific builds to recommend for huntress/ghost?
