The Light Dragon is one of the three dragons in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom that roam the skies of Hyrule.
To locate the Light Dragon, complete two main story quests to lower its flight altitude and then use Skyview Towers to jump on top of it.

How to Find the Light Dragon in TotK – Map Location & Route
The first step for finding the Light Dragon in Tears of the Kingdom is completing two main story quests:
- The Dragon’s Tears (unlocks after completing Impa and the Geoglyphs quest in Hyrule Ridge).
- Recovering the Hero’s Sword (unlocks after completing the Trail of the Sword quest).
After seeing the 12th Tears of the Dragon memory, the Light Dragon will fly significantly closer to the ground and you’ll be able to see it and jump on it easily.
As for its pathing, you can find the Light Dragon’s route after starting the Recovering the Hero’s Sword quest in Korok Forest. Then, you will be able to see the dragon’s exact location on your map.
How to Jump on the Light Dragon in TotK
Now that it’s flying lower, you can get on the Light Dragon in TotK by traveling to the nearest Skyview Tower, launching yourself, and gliding on top of it.
Since the dragon’s location won’t change while fast-traveling, this is the best method for jumping on it.
Light Dragon Item Rewards
Based on which part of the Light Dragon you attack, there will be a different item reward. Here are all the items that can be gained from the Light Dragon in TotK:

Additionally, you can get the Master Sword by landing on the head of the dragon as long as you have enough stamina to pull it out.
