Upon completing Chapter 6, skirmishes will begin to pop up on previously completed map points.
In this guide, I will go over whether skirmishes in Fire Emblem Engage are endless, and everything else you will need to know.
Skirmishes are a very important mechanic, for all the difficulties a player might choose. There are four varieties of Skirmishes players may encounter.
For those of you who just want the short answer, yes, skirmishes are endless in Fire Emblem Engage.
Skirmish Types
Skirmish
This is simply a regular skirmish battle that takes place at most locations on the world map. You can gain EXP, Character Support ranks, and Emblem Bond rank during the battle.
Training
This is a slightly different type of Skirmish battle that takes place at select locations on the map, usually allied castle locations.
These battles work nearly identically to regular skirmishes, except you’ll earn a money reward after clearing the map, plus a bonus of 50 EXP to every unit that participated in the battle.
Silver Corrupted
This is like a regular Skirmish battle, except some enemy units will be replaced with special ‘Silver Corrupted’ enemies, which reward more EXP when defeated.
Gold Corrupted
This is like a regular Skirmish battle, except some enemy units will be replaced with special ‘Gold Corrupted’ enemies, which drop money when defeated.
After the battle, you can earn Bond Fragments, adopt animals, and gather various ingredients or ores from the loot spaces in the Exploration Mode.
Below I will go a little more in-depth on everything you will need to know about skirmishes and the factors that affect them.
Since we are talking about battles, it’s always best to come well-equipped, and our guide on the Lewin sword will give you the edge in battle you are looking for.
Donations
In Cafe Terrace, there is a bulletin board on the right of the Ring Chamber. One of the options will be the option to donate. This is something important to take note of.
This allows players to donate straight to each nation, and upon reaching certain milestones your level with that specific nation will increase.
As seen in the image above, with each level increased, your rewards become better, and the rate at which you encounter certain skirmishes will increase as well.
- From Level 1 to Level 2 costs 5 thousand gold
- From Level 2 to Level 3 costs 10 thousand gold
- From Level 3 to Level 4 costs 25 thousand gold
- From Level 4 to Level 5 costs 50 thousand gold
Each nation has a maximum donation level of 5 and is worth the money you put in. To max the donation level for each nation you will need 90 thousand gold per nation, adding up to a total of 360 thousand gold for all of them.
Though it may take some time for you to max every nation, the rewards you get back for increasing those levels, are well worth the effort.
Note: As of the first wave of the DLC, opinions vary on whether Skirmishes appear on the Maddening difficulty. So proceed with caution, before using your gold on donations.
Can you do Fire Emblem Engage skirmishes whenever you want?
Skirmishes have a random chance to appear. Most often you will see them after completing a main story chapter or a paralogue. The game will zoom on the location a skirmish has appeared to inform you.
Aside from that, if you change your console’s internal date/time you will be able to manually spawn more skirmishes in the world map.
You don’t have to close the game to do it, and below I will list the steps to follow.
- Press the Home button on your Switch
- Head to Settings
- System
- Date and Time
- Manually set the clock to either a random date or a couple of hours ahead or behind your current time.
- Go back to the Home Screen and re-open the game.
Simply repeat this process, whenever you need more Skirmishes, and that’s how you make endless skirmishes appear in Fire Emblem Engage.
Conclusion
In conclusion, skirmishes are endless in Fire Emblem Engage, and they are a welcome non-intrusive returning mechanic to the game.
Whether you decide to make use of them or not, now you have all the important information, and ways to give yourself the advantage if you want. Make use of skirmishes and enjoy the game and its story.
