When starting out, players have a very limited energy meter. Even during the days when you’re completing quests and/or talking to villagers, make sure to spend all your energy.
It only takes a few minutes and you will always need the extra wood and stone you’ll gather.
2. Always Make Soil & Garden Plots
One of the first upgrades to your farm will be the compost bin. This can be used to craft soil through weeds.
Soil is essential for crafting extra garden plots but takes 24 in-game hours to craft. Since weeds respawn around your farm constantly, make sure you’re always making soil early in the game.
3. Every Few Days Explore the Village for Materials
The village and its surrounding areas (beach, farm, forest) are full of materials lying on the ground. This includes mushrooms, seaweed, moonflowers, and more.
All these materials respawn every few days and are useful for crafting food, progressing quests, or simply selling them for money.
Exploring every few days ensures you’re not missing any materials.
4. Upgrade Pickaxe Early
While you can upgrade each tool, the pickaxe is the most important. This is because it allows players to break bigger rocks, as well as iron nodes in the mines in fewer hits.
Instead of needing 3 hits to break a node, the first pickaxe upgrade makes you need only 1. This allows players to be more efficient with their energy and progress further into the mines.
5. Always Carry Food/Potions for Energy
When exploring around or mining, carrying food or energy potions can be a lifesaver.
Especially in the mines, it will help you finish a level and move to the next one without worrying about energy.
Similarly in the village, you might spot a rare fish while you’re out of energy. Simply eat something and catch it!
6. Complete Town Board Missions
If you’re short on money, consider checking the town board missions. These can be found on a board near the city hall and are usually easy tasks that require collecting ingredients.
Pick the ones you can complete easily and hand over the ingredients for some easy money.
7. Interact with Villagers to Check for Sidequests
Many villagers have sidequests that begin whenever the story is progressed enough. Unfortunately, there’s no easy way to keep track of each sidequest.
Thus, I recommend checking villagers often to see if they have any quests available.
These quests usually require gathering some materials and reward players with money.
8. Have Daily Discussions with Villagers
Every in-game day, players can chat with villagers. Every discussion increases their affection level.
If you’re interested in romancing a specific character, or want to level up affection for other reasons, daily discussions are a great way to do it.

9. Prioritize Big Fish When Fishing
Whenever you’re fishing, you can reel the first fish that bites. However, that’s not always the best option.

This way, you’ll catch better fish and make more money per bait used.
10. Hoard, Don’t Sell
One of the most convenient features of Wylde Flowers is that the player’s inventory space is unlimited.
Try and take advantage of that by hoarding any materials you find. Unless you need to sell them for some instant money, it’s better to hoard them.
This way, you’ll have them ready for future recipes, quests, or town board missions, which are more rewarding than directly selling the item.
