Whiteout Survival Essence Stone Guide

Essence Stones are key to leveling up Mythic Hero Gear in Whiteout Survival and one of the most important resources in the game. Once your Furnace hits Level 20, you unlock the Mastery Forging feature, which lets you enhance Mythic Hero Gear with these stones.

In today’s guide, I’ll cover everything about Essence Stone: how to gather more fast, the best ways to use them, and which heroes deserve those upgrades first. Let’s begin!

Essence Stone and Your Heroes

Once you get access to this new resource, you can apply it to your heroes following these steps:

1. Go to Heroes Tab
2. Gear
3. Select Mythic Gear
4. Mastery Forging
5. Forge (if you have enough Essence Stones)

There is a total of 20 upgrade levels here, with the first 10 levels requiring Essence Stones only, while the other 10 also require Mythic Gears. You will always need the same amount of resources – to know what to expect, check out my table below:

How to Get Essence Stones

Essence Stones increase Mythic Gear’s mastery level, boosting gear stats. Here’s where you will find them:

Bear Hunting Event

Once unlocked, the Bear Hunt is triggered every 48 hours in the game. The leader of your alliance decides when it starts, but once it’s on, make sure to be active and focus on dealing high damage to reap the benefits – including getting more Essence Stones

Frosty Fortune Event

In this event, you need to complete Treasure Hunting Drills and earn points. These points unlock chests containing Thorn of Enigma, which can be traded for various rewards, including Essence Stones.

Tundra Trading Station

If you’re lucky enough to be an older state, the Tundra Trading Station is the perfect place to get ES in Whiteout Survival, as you probably have some extra hero shards you don’t need.

While the costs are high – you need to trade the said hero shards, you can get plenty of Essence Stones this way.

Mystery Shop

Mystery Badges drop from daily missions (in small amounts) or purchased packs. Spend these badges at the Mystery Shop for Essence Stones. It’s not the fastest method, but if you’re consistent, you’ll eventually save enough badges to grab 10 Stones – so just be patient and consistent!

Foundry Shop

Another shop that requires a bit of grinding, the Foundry Shop lets you gain Essence Stones by trading Arsenal Tokens you get from Foundry Battles. Even if you don’t win, you still get some Tokens – so make sure to be active here as well.

VIP Shop

At VIP Level 11, you can buy Essence Stones with gems. If you’re a spender aiming for VIP 11, you can get them at a 40% discount. Just make sure to keep spending under control, as these can quickly add up!

Buying Packs

Another method that involves spending real-life money. You can get various packs that include Essence Stones, including the Weekly Benefit Card or Custom Chests Packs.

Tips for Maximizing Essence Stones

It’s pretty clear by now that these are not extremely important resources, but also ones that you can’t waste. Here’s how to maximize the effect of the ES you already have (and those you’ll get):

Focus on Key Heroes: Upgrade gear for heroes you use most, especially your top 3–5. No need in wasting these resources on upgrading heroes you will not use in the future.

Track Event Schedules: Join Bear Hunting and Frosty Fortune for more Essence Stones. Be active in the said events to get the most.

Manage Resources Wisely: Balance spending on Essence Stones with other important upgrades.

Time Your Upgrades: Some events reward you for using Essence Stones. If you’re not in a rush, wait for these events to get extra rewards. If you have a war coming, use them ASAP to boost power.
