Ultimate Fishing Simulator: How to Catch Catfish

Ultimate Fishing Simulator is extremely rewarding and especially relaxing – but you’re there to capture the biggest fish possible. And out of them all, the catfish is definitely the biggest. And in today’s article we’re going to talk about that: how to catch Catfish in Ultimate Fishing Simulator.

This method won’t guarantee you a catfish each time you cast the line, but it will sure increase your chances. Most likely, using any other combination of bait and rod, lure and line would make things a lot more difficult, if not impossible, so it’s best to follow these guidelines. They definitely work.

So here is what you need to know in order to be able to catch channel catfish in Ultimate Fishing Simulator:

First of all, it’s worth noting that the Catfish is swimming at the bottom. Therefore, one of the most important things you have to do is to add more weight to the line than what the float requires. This will make it go towards the bottom of the lake and increase your chances of catching catfish.

Another thing to do is to know where the Catfish is. It seems that very few of these spawn in the game, so having the Hunter Vision enabled is a life saver. This way you won’t have to blindly cast left or right (although even doing that will eventually give you a catfish if everything else is met).

Now, for your setup. Apart from the tip that I mentioned above for adding more weight than the float needs, you will need a very large hook – size 3 or 2/5 hook will do the trick. Use large cutbait and this would be it. Catfish will surely come sooner rather than later.

For bait, there are reports from people succeeding with corn or worms. I wasn’t as lucky, but you can give it a try as well.

You also need a good rod and line, otherwise the catfish will escape. You can use any combination of strong enough elements, or go for this: the Dakino Max-85 rod, the Dakino H-240 reel and the Okena TTU-XIII line.

Finally, make sure that you’re in an area where there are channel catfish. For example, the starting lake – Betty Lake – doesn’t have it and no matter how much you try, you can’t find it. You can only start trying to catch a catfish once you unlock Powell Lake.

And this would be it. Hopefully this will make it easier for you to catch the channel catfish in Ultimate Fishing Simulator.
