Are you looking for the best starting class in Lords of the Fallen that will help you jumpstart your adventure in this dark world? This guide is for you.
Overall, the best class is the Dark Crusader due to its overall higher stats, but if you’re interested in specific builds other classes can perform better.
In this guide, I will showcase the best starting classes in Lords of the Fallen and explain what makes them stand out.
Combined with our guide on how to upgrade the Sanguinarix in LotF, you’ll be able to create a strong early-game build.
Best Starting Class in Lords of the Fallen
Overall, the best starting class depends on your playstyle. For a melee build the Udirangr Warwolf is your best bet, for a spellcaster, I recommend the Orian Preacher, while the best all-rounder class is the Partisan.
However, the best class overall in terms of raw stats is the Dark Crusader, as it starts with 14 levels instead of 12 and has the strongest starting armor that will allow you to tank more hits before dying.
Let’s examine each class in turn.
Udirangr Warwolf

Udirangr Warwolf is a great class for melee builds since it starts with 16 strength and a strong greatsword. One of the best parts of this class is that it also has throwing axes, which allows it to occasionally take down enemies from range.
As for attacks, this class stands out due to its running heavy attack that deals a lot of damage and staggers enemies.
Orian Preacher

If you want a spellcaster or Paladin-style class, the Orian Preacher is the best starting class in Lords of the Fallen for you. It has melee attacks with long reach and amazing holy spells with small cast times to take down enemies from afar.
You can also equip a shield and turn this into a Paladin-style class, which is a great way to combine holy spells with some extra defensive capabilities.
Partisan

The Partisan stands out as you have 13 Strength, 12 Agility, 12 Endurance, and 12 Vitality. With a bit of everything, you can go for either a Strength or Agility build without having to worry about the other stats as much.
The Morningstar starting weapon is a great option with a long reach and high stagger that shines in Agility builds. The Partisan also comes with a Crossbow for ranged combat.
Dark Crusader

The Dark Crusader is the best class in Lords of the Fallen as he starts with higher stats than other classes and has a better early-game armor set. It has similar attacks to the Warwolf while dealing more damage and taking less damage.
The only disadvantage of this class is the throwable explosive pouches, which are significantly weaker compared to the Warwolf’s throwable axes.
To unlock the Dark Crusader, either purchase the Deluxe Edition of the game or complete Isaac’s storyline.
Keep in mind that even the best class won’t perform well if you’re under-leveled. Make sure to check out our best Vigor farm in Lords of the Fallen for more details.
Wrapping up
To summarize, the best starting class in Lords of the Fallen depends on your playstyle but if you want the one with the highest starting starts, your best option is the Dark Crusader.
Personally, I chose the Orian Preacher since I’m aiming for a Radiance build but the Dark Crusader would be my second choice.
