Are you trying to decide which faction to join in Last Epoch between Circle of Fortune and Merchant’s Guild? Here’s your best option.
In short, the Circle of Fortune is the best faction if you don’t care about following a specific build and want to experiment with random drop items. If you’re following a specific build, the Merchant’s Guild is the better choice, as it will allow you to get the gear pieces you want more consistently.

Circle of Fortune
The Circle of Fortune faction grants increased the total drops you get after completing each dungeon while also increasing the rarity of the drops. You’ll be dropping Unique, Legendary, and Exalted items more consistently.
Additionally, gear dropped will have better upgrades overall. Through the Wheel of Fortune, you’ll have better items. However, you won’t be able to use most of them as many won’t fit your build at all.

Merchant’s Guild
The Merchant’s Guild allows you to access the Bazaar, a location where you can buy and sell items. As you level up, you’ll be able to buy better items; at level 10, you’ll be able to buy anything you want.
Bazaar will use a unique currency named Favor, which is necessary for purchasing items.
The Bazaar is a great asset that allows you to find specific gear for certain builds. If your class absolutely needs a specific weapon, the Bazaar will allow you to get it without having to rely on rng.
Best Faction in Last Epoch
Overall, the best faction in Last Epoch depends on your playstyle. If you want to follow a specific build, the Merchant’s Guild is your best option since it will allow you to buy all the specific gear pieces that you’ll need.
However, if you just want to experiment with various builds and aren’t sure which playstyle to go for, the Circle of Fortune is the better choice.
It will grant you access to rarer and stronger items more consistently, and you’ll be able to try various pieces of equipment before settling on your final build.
Keep in mind that if you made an offline character due to server issues at launch, you won’t be able to access any of the features in the Mechant’s Guild.
Faction Swapping – Is It Worth It?
While you can swap factions at any point in Last Epoch, it isn’t worth it at all. You will lose all your current favor when switching factions.
Additionally, you won’t be able to equip any gear purchased from the Merchant’s Guild if you are in the Wheel of Fortune faction.
Thus, I recommend deciding on the faction you want based on your playstyle and sticking to it.
