Super Fantasy Kingdom: How to Unlock Werewolf, Jester, and Gremlin

The Werewolf, Jester, and Gremlin are three of the most difficult units to unlock in the game – not necessarily because of the requirements per se, but because the requirements themselves are very cryptic.

Today, I will share a quick guide for each of these three characters, helping you unlock them ASAP – they’re all relatively easy to unlock, and you can do so in the first couple of days.

How to Unlock the Werewolf – “Be Kind” Achievement

Werewolf

The Werewolf’s unlock path is deceptively simple once you know what you must do and you will most likely unlock it by playing naturally. If not, here’s the real requirement: you must constantly pet the dog that wanders around.

While it’s not exactly clear how many times you have to interact with the dog, the more, the better – probably at least several interactions are required. Then, when the day ends, you will get the “Be Kind” achievement.

This allows you to recruit the Werewolf – but you must first locate it.

The Werewolf’s location is in the northeastern section of your starting territory, not far from the Church where the Monk is recruited and beneath the Port with a hanging fish sign.

Expand your roads north, then east, until you reach that area. Interact with the icon, confirm the prompt, and the Werewolf is unlocked!

How to Unlock the Jester – “Be Funny” Achievement

The Jester

Unlocking the Jester in the game is one of its best-kept secrets for some reason – so much so that it almost became a meme in the community. And, while you might end up unlocking it randomly, it’s the most difficult to get out of the three.

To unlock the Jester (and “Be Funny”) you must build four Wells during a single run. This makes it a bit of a challenge, because the number of wells is high, so it’s best to plan ahead for it.

Each Well costs four Stones, so focus on getting bonuses that give you more Stones and focus on the Quarry too.

The “Be Funny” achievement triggers immediately after you build four wells AND you end the day successfully.

With the achievement done, you’ll still need to physically locate the Jester on the world map. He resides in the Human Kingdom, on an isolated island to the northeast that becomes accessible through a Voyage.

To start one, construct a Port along your eastern shoreline and upgrade it for 20 Coins. A ship will then depart automatically each day, pushing further across the sea.

After roughly 10–15 in-game days, you’ll arrive near the Jester’s island. Once there, spend 10 Shards to build a short road and interact with him. A true challenge, so it’s best to dedicate an entire run to unlocking him.

How to Unlock the Gremlin

Gremlin

Compared to the first two, the Gremlin’s challenge feels more like a riddle: “Smelt gold ore without mining one.” It sounds impossible until you realize there’s a loophole.

Early in a campaign, if you’ve unlocked the Witch, she can gift you a piece of gold ore as part of her initial interaction. With that single chunk, head to your Smelter and craft it into gold bars – no mining required. Doing so meets the hidden condition and triggers the unlock as early as Day 1.

Once completed, the Gremlin can appear during your next expedition. Keep an eye out while exploring new regions – when you encounter him, interact to recruit him permanently.

Wrapping up

As far as the three units go, unlocking the Werewolf first makes the most sense as it’s immediate and grants a strong melee ally. The Gremlin is a quick follow-up and you can usually unlock both in the same run. Save the Jester for a dedicated run – and leave it for later, as it’s one of the more challenging ones to get.
