Sun Haven: Best Starting Profession / Race

When starting a new game, players will be asked to choose their profession and race. These options offer various traits, in terms of perks and starting items.

However, there are ten professions to choose from and seven races, and players can easily get overwhelmed. Overall, the best starting profession and race should depend on your playstyle.

Personally, I recommend the Explorer profession since it offers a permanent movement speed bonus and the Human race due to the extra crafting speed.

In this guide, I will list all professions and races in Sun Haven and showcase the best ones to help you make the most out of your playthrough.

But which ones are the best?

Best Starting Profession in Sun Haven

Overall, the starting profession only offers some small buffs that you can get normally within the first week of gameplay. Due to that, I recommend choosing a profession that suits the activity you want to start with.

However, if you want to min-max everything, the best starting professions are those that include permanent stat bonuses. This includes the Explorer, the Spellcaster, and the Duelist.

From those, the Explorer is the best starting profession in Sun Haven as you’ll need to walk around a lot regardless of your favorite activity and early-game movement speed can feel slow and sluggish without the Explorer’s buff.

But which one is the best?

Best Starting Race in Sun Haven

Best starting Race in Sun Haven.

The best starting Race in Sun Haven is Human. This is because the crafting bonus will be extremely helpful during the mid and late stages of the game.

When you’ll need to craft something that lasts 5 or 10 hours, the Expert Crafter perk will reduce that by 1 or 2 hours respectively, which is a lot.

Alternatively, the Elf is also an ideal choice if you want to try your luck with a Crossbow build. The 10% extra damage will make your life extremely easier in the early-game, as you’ll be able to take down enemies with ease.

Wrapping up

To summarize, the best starting profession in Sun Haven is the Explorer, and the best starting Race is Human.

The explorer offers the most valuable permanent bonus for the early game, with the Human’s trait will be helpful during the later parts of the game when players will need to craft more complicated items.
