There are currently over 25 characters in Soul Knight, and today I’m embarking on the difficult, but fun quest to rank them all.
In this tier list, I will go over the best characters in Soul Knight and which will be the greatest assets to tackle the challenges ahead. This will help you focus on the best of the best in the game.
Now, let’s start with a quick overview of the Soul Knight Tier List!
Tier | Classes |
S | Rogue, Witch, Paladin, Necromancer, Special Forces |
A | Air Bender, Alchemist, Assassin, Robot, The Beheaded, Physicist, Interdimensional Traveler, Engineer, Taoist, Trap Master |
B | Element Envoy, Elf, Inter-dimensional Traveler, Knight, Priestess, Time Travelling Ninja, Werewolf, Vampire, Berserker, |
C | Druid, Officer, Miner, Demonmancer |
Now that you know the exact ranking of the in-game characters, based on my research and opinion, I have to say that despite everything, you are meant to have fun with the game. Pick the characters you want, and enjoy the experiences that come with it.
Especially since the game offers a rich multiplayer experience, you never know which characters will make the difference between victory and defeat.
If you want to try out more games but are unsure of what to pick to best help that experience along, check out our class tier list on the best class in the game, in BattleBit Remastered.
Now, let’s get a bit more in depth with my two favorite characters in Soul Knight: The Rogue and The Witch.
Soul Knight: BEST S-Tier Classes
The S-Tier though small, and with a few classes showcases what are some of the best things you can achieve with characters.
Soul Knight: The Rogue Class
The Rogue can be unlocked by paying the 2.000 Gem cost. Once unlocked he can also be encountered during a run as an NPC. Upon interaction, he will follow and assist the player like a follower for the current floor only, wielding Jack and Mary.
Each upgrade changes his stats slightly:
- +1 HP: 500 gems
- +1 Armor: 1,000 gems
- +20 Energy: 1,500 gems
- -2s Skill CD: 2,000 gems
- Skill Upgrade: 2,500 gems
- “Critical hit bullets can pierce enemies” buff: 5,000 gems
- Enhance Starting Weapon: 8,000 gems
Let’s go over the stats of the Rogue, and what you can expect.
Health | Armor | Energy | Critical Chance | Melee Damage | Starter Weapon |
5 | 3 | 180 | 10 | 5 | Jack and Mary |
The Rogue has one skill player will use, and two locked behind a paywall. I will also go over some tricks on how to use Dodge effectively.
Skill 1: Dodge
- Dodge moves the player’s character forward to where they were facing.
- Dodge causes Rogue to evade all hostile damage.
- It is possible to attack still during dodging.
- The cooldown is 2.5 (0.5) seconds long and starts after the rolling motion ends in 0.5 seconds.
Skill Upgrade: Crit hit rate increases greatly for 1 sec after the dodge.
- This works for all attacks made within 1 second of dodging. Increases critical hit rate by 50%.
Mentor Upgrade: Roll forward further.
- Increases roll distance.
The Dodge skill has a very short cool down, so players can activate the skill frequently to dodge bullets. They can also dodge the constant damage from Burn and Poison debuffs by using the skill at the right time.
Keep in mind, that the direction of the dodge is the same as the direction pad. When dodging bullets, the player should dodge to the side instead of the direction that the bullets travel, so they won’t be hit after they exit invincibility.

Soul Knight: The Witch Class
The Witch can be unlocked by paying the 3.000 Gem cost. Once unlocked, she can also be encountered during a run as an NPC, wielding The Code. Upon interaction, she will restore 200 energy to a player once.
Each upgrade changes her stats slightly:
- +1 HP: 500 gems
- +1 Armor: 1,000 gems
- +20 Energy: 1,500 gems
- -2s Skill Cooldown: 2,000 gems
- Skill Upgrade: 2,500 gems
- “Elemental bullets deal double damage on critical hits” buff: 5,000 gems
- Enhance Starting Weapon: 8,000 gems
- Refine Magic Crystals (for Echo Amber): 10,000 gems
Let’s go over the stats of the WItch, and what you can expect.
Health | Armor | Energy | Critical Chance | Melee Damage | Starter Weapon |
3 | 5 | 240 | 0 | 3 | The Code |
The Witch has two skills players will use, and one locked behind a paywall. I will also go over some tricks on how to use them better.
Skill 1: Lightning Strike
- The Witch will swing a Magic Staff and create a blue circle underneath her, then a lightning bolt will strike the nearest enemy in sight. The bolt can then jump to other enemies up to 4 times.
- While the first target has to be in the line of sight and not behind indestructible blocks, the following jumps will ignore obstacles.
- All enemies getting hit will take 8 damage and may be stunned for about 2 seconds.
- If there are no other enemies nearby, it will hit that enemy again for 16 damage, dealing 24 damage in total.
- The cooldown is 6 (4) seconds long and starts 0.4 seconds after casting.
Skill Upgrade: Lightning damage increases.
- The next jump of the lightning will add 2 more damage from the previous jump. up to 16 damage on the 5th enemy.
- The lightning bolt inflicts Electrify debuff on each jump.
Mentor Upgrade: Release 2 bolts of lightning. Both damage and stun duration increases.
- Cast lightning, and it strikes twice on each skill activation.
Due to the Witch’s glass-cannon nature, it’s good to practice pre-casting or casting Lightning Strike a little bit before entering a room. It may or may not hit, but it provides the player with some degree of safety upon entering a room.
Skill 2: Piercing Frost
- Use 6,000 gems to unlock this skill.
- Summon one trail of 6 ice spikes that travels forward, damaging and Freezing enemies.
- The ice trail is 9 tiles long, deals 6 damage upon contact, and will disappear after 1 second.
- The ice trail can also block bullets and travel through obstacles. However, enemy bouncy bullets cannot be blocked.
- This skill has a 6 (4) seconds cooldown and starts instantly after it is used.
Skill Upgrade: Increase the number of frost spikes and their duration.
- This will add 2 more trails at a 60-degree angle.
Mentor Upgrade: Damage and freeze duration increase. Summon an ice spike that can track and attack enemies, and has a chance to freeze enemies.
- Increases the damage of each spike to 8, from 6. Also increases the duration of the freeze effect.
Piercing Frost can be used similarly to the first skill, or when the player needs to clear out bullets so that they or their teammates won’t get damaged.
The player should only use this skill when they’re not moving away from the enemy as they may miss the skill.
Important things to note about the Soul Knight characters
I really want to highlight an important thing. Among the many unlockables in the game, there are some characters locked behind a paywall.
Players on the Nintendo Switch will purchase a complete version of the game will all the characters included, while mobile players will have to make the dip, and purchase them.
If this is fair or not – it’s up to you to decide. But do know that an in-game app purchase might lock some of the characters recommended above.
Final Thoughts
With so many different classes to choose from, knowing which ones can help you when you first start your journey can be really important.
