In short, the best locations involve large open areas, lots of ore nodes close by, many new Pals that you can catch, and are overall easy to defend during raids.

Best First Base Location in Palworld

The best first base location in Palworld is near the starting area, at the chokepoint where the second Fast Travel statue is located.

This is the most ideal location since it’s right next to the Fast Travel location. You’ll be able to explore and travel back and forth easily.

Additionally, it’s a flat spot, easy to access, and has a wide variety of wild Pals. To make this spot even better, there’s an abundance of materials like wood, stone, and ore. With all these, you’ll be able to progress through the early game easily.

Once you’ve started leveling up, your next step will be to find more base locations so you can catch more Pals and gain access to rarer materials.

Best Base Location Spots for Mid & Late Game

As you explore the map and unlock more fast travel points, you’ll need to build multiple bases. Overall, the best base locations in Palworld are any spots that fulfill the following requirements:

Have an abundance of ores nearby
Flat land
Many different Pal species nearby
Close to Towers
Near a Fast Travel point

Based on those criteria, my best advice is to keep exploring the map and settle in any location that fulfills as many of those as possible. Specifically, here are the three best base locations in Palworld:

165, -395

This first location at 165 -395 is ideal for farming ore. There are around eight nodes next to each other, so you’ll never have an issue with that.

While there’s not much flat land, you can build on the hill right above and set up your Pals to farm all the ore. Additionally, the best part of this location is that it’s easy to defend, as it’s only vulnerable from one location.

0, -520

The 0, -520 location is another amazing mining hotspot, but it also features a large, open space to build everything you need.

Additionally, there are many new Pals to catch around this area. There’s even a cave right below the hill with even more unique Pals.

-350, 300

Another great area if you want to explore the snow biome is -350, 300. This is an amazing location as it includes a vast open field where you have enough space to build anything.

Additionally, there’s a steep cliff on one side, which means you don’t have to worry about raiders from there.

With a lot of ore and many snow-type Pals, it’s a great location for your next base.
