How to Connect Fallout 4 to Your Fallout Pip Boy App

In theory, it shouldn’t be too difficult to connect the recently launched app by Bethesda – the Fallout Pip Boy App – with your Fallout 4 game to have access to all the information about your character, but also to access the minigames and play them whenever you want.

However, some gamers are having trouble linking the two, and for those I have decided to write this quick guide to help you out. So read on if you want to find out how to connect Fallout 4 to your Fallout Pip Boy app.

I am using screenshots below, because it’s the easiest way to do it.

First step: Start your game (you need to be in the game, so not main menu) and go to Settings – Gameplay – scroll down and make sure that you have the Pip Boy App Enabled On:

Extremely important, especially for PC users (and the main reason why this doesn’t usually work) is to allow the game to connect the to the internet.

You’ll most likely get a notice from your Windows Firewall – make sure you allow internet access. You can Alt + Tab out of the game to make sure that you don’t miss that.

Next, start your app and select the platform you’re playing Fallout 4 on:

On the next screen, if you did everything right, you should see your device listed:

Tap it and you’ll get the success message:

Now you have connected the game to the app and you can also access all that data even in offline mode (to play the mini-games, for example). That’s it!

  1. Took me hours to figure it out. Turn on File printing and sharing. IMPORTANT: Microsoft turned off the SMB in windows 10. Google how to reactivate it, then restart computer. Launch Game then app. FFS Finally!!!
