Hogwarts Legacy: How to Respawn Enemies [Full Guide]

In Hogwarts Legacy, defeating enemies like Spiders and Inferi is a great way to get your hands on the unique ingredient drops they provide such as spider claws and Stench of the Dead.

Players have been wondering whether it’s possible to respawn an enemy in the game after defeating them for the first time. Thankfully, the answer here is yes, enemies can respawn.

To respawn enemies, players will need to wait two to four in-game days, depending on the type of enemy. Also, this works only for normal enemies and bandit camps. Rare and Infamous foes do not respawn.

In this guide, I will explain how to respawn enemies in Hogwarts Legacy and showcase which enemies can respawn.

Out of the 67 types of enemies available in the game, only 34 of those can respawn. These 34 are split into two categories:

  • Common beast enemies (Inferi, Spiders, Mongrels, Dugbogs, Trolls, etc.).
  • Bandit camps.

To respawn these enemies, players will need to travel to a different region and advance time multiple times.

Specifically, to respawn common beast enemies, players will need to advance time two times in total (one full day-night cycle).

For bandit camps, the required time is seven times (3 and a half full cycles).

Keep in mind that this will only work if you’re in a different region from the enemy while advancing time. Otherwise, this won’t work.

Also, for some players, this process has taken four to five in-game days, which equals passing time eight to ten times.

Do Chests Respawn in Hogwarts Legacy?

Unfortunately, the short answer is that chests do not respawn in Hogwarts Legacy. So, if you’re hoping to respawn all enemies so that chests will respawn as well, this isn’t true.

Also, another important detail to know about chests as mentioned by a Reddit user, is that opening them while your gear slots are full will lock the gear to your current level, even if you don’t actually loot the item.

For instance, if you open a chest at level 10 but your gear slots are full, and come back at level 20 with a free inventory to pick up the item, it will be a level 10 item, which is practically useless.

To avoid such cases, make sure to increase your gear capacity in the game by completing any Merlin Trials that you find.

Wrapping up

To summarize, players can respawn enemies in Hogwarts Legacy by traveling to a different region and passing time until two to three and a half in-game days have passed.

Then, travel back to the location of the enemies and if it’s a type of enemy that can respawn, it will be there.
