First of all, Graphorn will be level 30 for this boss fight. If your level is not high enough yet, consider checking out our guide on how to level up fast in the game.

The best tip to beat the Graphorn boss is to stay away from it. This is because keeping a distance will cause the boss to charge toward you, which can easily be dodged.

Keep in mind that the boss’ attacks cannot be blocked, so dodging is your only option.

Instead, if you’re next to it, Graphorn will cast a spin attack, which can be very tricky to avoid since it requires precise timing.

Best Spells for Boss Fights in Hogwarts Legacy

Additionally, make sure to utilize your strongest spells for this fight. Here are the best four spells to use while fighting Graphorn:

  1. Diffindo
  2. Bombarda
  3. Glacius
  4. Confringo

Use Glacius whenever it’s off cooldown followed by any of the other spells to deal significant damage and take down even the tankiest bosses.

Even though Glacius can’t freeze larger boss enemies, it still increases any damage from follow-up spells, which makes it a prime choice during boss fights.

Another useful tip is to utilize ancient magic whenever you have it (ideally save most charges for Phase 2) and use ancient magic throw whenever possible since there will be various throwables around the arena.

Lastly, make sure to come prepared for this fight by bringing enough Wiggenweld potions to heal in case of need.

Graphorn Boss Fight Phase 1 (100-50% HP)

Right from the get-go, you’ll notice the boss’ HP bar is split in half. The first half signifies the first phase of the boss fight, where the boss’ attacks are fairly slow and predictable.

Keep dodging in time and use any damaging spells whenever they’re off cooldown to take the boss’ bar down.

When its HP reaches 50%, Graphorn will retreat temporarily and come back stronger a few seconds later.

Graphorn Boss Fight Phase 2 (50-0% HP)

After reaching 50% HP, Phase 2 will begin. There are no additional mechanics. The only difference during this phase is that the boss will have faster attacks overall and deal more damage.

Due to that, a useful tip is to save your ancient magic for this phase to help take down the boss faster.

If you have completed enough Ancient Magic Hotspots while exploring the open world, you’ll have enough casts to take down the boss easily.

After Graphorn’s HP reaches 0, players will have the choice of either kneeling or attacking.

It doesn’t matter which one you choose, as the outcome will be the same. The only difference is that players will get a slightly different cutscene, based on the option chosen.
