Hogwarts Legacy: How to Beat Fastidio’s Monster

Fastidio’s Monster is one of the bosses players will be called to face in Hogwarts Legacy while progressing the sidequest “Minding Your Own Business”.

To defeat it, players should simply follow the same tips as when fighting trolls since this boss has similar attack patterns and weaknesses.

Use Flipendo when it strikes the ground, ancient magic throw to hit it with its own boulder, and ancient magic during the third phase of the fight which is the hardest.

Fighting this boss is similar to fighting a troll. It features 3-hit attack patterns where the first two must be dodged and the third can be blocked with Protego.

Additionally, it has a boulder throw attack that can be blocked with Protego and then players can use RB to throw the boulder back to the boss’ face.

The best tip for defeating it is to keep an eye on its attacks. During its 3-hit pattern, the third hit will have the monster slamming the ground.

Use Flipendo when it’s hitting the ground to deal significant damage. Then, follow up with any offensive spells and the boss will go down easily.

Best Spells for Boss Fights in Hogwarts Legacy

Additionally, make sure to utilize your strongest spells for this fight. Here are the best four spells to use while fighting Fastidio’s Monster:

  1. Diffindo
  2. Bombarda
  3. Glacius
  4. Confringo

Players should use Glacius whenever it’s off cooldown and try to follow it up with any other offensive spell.

While Glacius doesn’t freeze bosses, it amplifies the damage of any following spells, which allows players to deal phenomenal damage with this simple combo.

Another useful tip is to utilize ancient magic whenever you have it (ideally save most charges for Phase 3) and use ancient magic throw whenever possible since there will be various throwables around the arena.

Lastly, make sure to come prepared for this fight by bringing enough Wiggenweld potions to heal in case of need.

Fastidio’s Monster Phase 1 & 2 (100-66% HP & 66-33% HP)

The boss fight has three phases, as signified by its HP bar. However, the first two Phases have the same mechanics, with the only difference being that the boss attacks slightly faster in Phase 2.

Use the tips mentioned above and save your ancient magic for the next phase.

Fastidio’s Monster Phase 3 (33-0% HP)

In Phase 3, the camera and controls of the player will be inverted. This can make the fight slightly frustrating, which is why you should use any saved ancient magic now.

The more ancient magic casts you have saved up, the faster you’ll escape the inverted camera and controls phase.

Other than that, the mechanics are the exact same as the previous two phases.

Wrapping up

In conclusion, to defeat Fastidio’s Monster in Hogwarts Legacy, players should aim to use Flipendo at the right timing, save ancient magic for phase 3, equip the best spells and combos, and throw the boss’ boulder back to its face.
