For Fallout 4, Bethesda has prepared a really nice surprise for some of the players: they have recorded 1,000 different names that players can use in-game and if they do, they will be addressed to by characters using that name.
In other words, if you choose Gary (just a random example, of course) you will actually hear people in the game calling you Gary.
If you go for MrPerfectSurvivor, then characters in the game will refer to you as “mister,” “sir” and other generic stuff. So it’s really fun, especially if your name or a name you’d like to use for your character is on the list.
In order to make things a bit easier for you, we have collected below the data of names that work in Fallout 4 – names that you tell Codsworth when you start the game and can be heard throughout the game, thanks to this Reddit thread:

Have in mind that spelling matters. In other words, Damian works, Damien doesn’t. But who cares when you have Marty McFly working? Really, now?
Also have in mind that the list above is of only 133 confirmed names. There are 1,000 working ones, and I am sure that Bethesda has a few surprises for us, which will be discovered sooner or later.
