Enshrouded Craftspeople Locations: How to Unlock Them All Early

There are five craftspeople in Enshrouded: the Alchemist, the Blacksmith, the Carpenter, the Hunter and the Farmer.

You should unlock them as soon as possible in order to be able to summon them and have access to more & better items and equipment.

In order to unlock each of them, you will need to travel to their indicated location and generally defeat a bunch of enemies along the way. It’s not an easy task, but one you have to go through as soon as possible, as they are very useful.

Unlocking all the craftspeople: things to know first

Before jumping in to unlock each of the five characters, there are a few things you should do to prepare and make sure that you can actually reach them and unlock them.

They are all located inside Ancient Vaults, but in order to reach them you will need both a Grappling Hook and a Glider.

I also recommend taking the Flame Altar with you and setting up camp progressively closer to each location, while getting back to your base for a rest and for repairing items over the night.

Finally, after unlocking all the five Craftsmen, you will need to craft a Summoning Staff in order to actually summon them all to a destination you choose (usually your base).

Balthazar the Alchemist Location & How to Unlock

Even though the game shows Balthazar first, I found it easier to unlock the Blacksmith. But I’ll guide you based on the order in the game to keep things easy. So let’s see where to find Balthazar the Alchemist in Enshrouded!

To get him, you will need to reach the western Ancient Vault after crossing the Braelyn Bridge.

Make sure to bring your Pickaxe and be ready to use it extensively to reach the Vault. But once there, deal with a few enemies and Awaken the Survivor to get Balthazar.

Oswald Anders the Blacksmith Location & How to Unlock

I still believe that this might be the first one you’ll stumble upon after crossing the Braelyn Bridge and dealing with the enemies there.

He’s located inside the Ancient Altar there, but prepare for dealing with plenty of baddies. Once you’ve taken care of them all, you can Awaken the Survivor.

Cade Hawthorn the Carpenter Location & How to Unlock

He’s the most difficult one to get, in my opinion – I personally reached him last and it’s a bit of a challenge to get to his Ancient Altar.

You will find the Altar in the Southern part of the map, to the East of Morwenna, relatively close to your starting location.

I recommend bringing the Flame Altar with you, to make things a bit easier. But it’s still a real challenge as the Altar itself is Enshrouded and chock full of enemies.

If you really can’t take out all the enemies (which is difficult early on), you can simply rush into the Altar and Awaken the Survivor – he will still be unlocked even if you are defeated.

Athalan Skree The Hunter Location & How to Unlock

You will find the hunter to the East of the location of the Blacksmith, at the base of the mountains.

From the Blacksmith’s Ancient Altar, head East past the Shroud Root and you will soon find an area with plenty of wooden chests laying around – that’s where the Ancient Altar of the Huntress can be found too.

I recommend bringing a Grappling Hook (it’s impossible to do it without it) and also have the Flame Altar nearby, as you will have some serious navigating to do to Awaken this Survivor.

Emily Fray the Farmer Location & How to Unlock

We have an in-depth guide to the Farmer in Enshrouded, but the bottom line is that she’s to be found in the Northern area on the map, North of Ferndale and a bit to the North East of the Wescott Settlement.

To reach this Ancient Vault, you will definitely need all the items mentioned in this guide – the Grappling Hook, Glider and Pickaxe, while the Flame Altar is useful to have around and place when you’re close to the Ancient Valut.

Just like with the Hunter, you’ll have to jump over lava and various other difficult areas, so you’ll appreciate having the Flaming Altar nearby.

Final words

Now you know how to unlock all the five craftspeople in Enshrouded. While the game shows them in a different order, I think the easiest to go for is this: Blacksmith, Hunter, Alchemist, Farmer and Carpenter.

But in the end, you can try and unlock them in any order as you don’t have to complete an area in order to do so. Just rush past the enemies and obstacles, Awaken the Survivor and you’re all set.
