This Enshrouded comfort guide will go through all you need to know including how comfort works, how to increase it, and what’s the cap.
In short, comfort is calculated based on the highest-quality item in each furniture category that is placed in your house. The more comfort you have, the longer the rested buff will last after leaving your base.
Let’s go through everything you need to know about comfort, including how to increase it and what the hard cap is.
How Comfort Works in Enshrouded
Comfort is a mechanic for bases that grants you the rested buff when you’re at the base. The buff’s duration will vary based on the level of comfort.
For instance, during the early game where you’ll only have a few levels of comfort, expect the rested buff to only last a few minutes after leaving the base.
The rested buff will increase your max stamina and stamina regeneration, which is extremely useful for exploration.
Keep in mind that comfort only increases the buff’s duration, not its effects; you will have the same regeneration and max stamina increase regardless of comfort level.
If you’re just starting out and want to build more furniture, here’s how to get more Twigs easily in Enshrouded.
Since the only way to increase the duration of this buff is by increasing comfort, let’s see how to do it.
How to Increase Comfort
To increase comfort, you must place furniture and decorations that mention comfort in their description. However, comfort items do not stack, and only the best item from each category will increase your comfort.
Thus, if you place two campfires, only one of them will increase your comfort. Similarly, if you place a campfire and a fireplace, only the fireplace will count since it grants more comfort and is within the same category of items.
Automatically, the game will only count one item for each category, and it will be the one that grants the most comfort.
The current hard cap is at 69, which grants the rested buff for 1hr and 19 minutes. We’re still experimenting with this, and we’ll make sure to update this guide if a new cap is discovered.

Wrapping up
To summarize this Enshrouded comfort guide, comfort allows you to gain the rested buff for an increased duration. This buff grants stamina regeneration and increases max stamina.
To increase it, you must place the best furniture available in each furniture category, and you can get it all the way up to 69. Keep in mind that the same furniture and furniture in the same category do not stack as the game automatically chooses the best one.
