Demonologist: Hiding Spots from Entities / Surviving Hunts

A hunt begins in the Demonologist game when your sanity level drops considerably and the entity starts attacking you. Today, we will learn how to survive a hunt in the game.

In order to survive a hunt in Demonologist, you have to escape the ghost that’s hunting you. You can do so either by getting in one of the hidings spots in the area you’re playing or by having a crucifix equipped.

Of course, trying to prevent a hunt from starting is also a great idea. For that, you need to keep your sanity level high (and teammates should do the same). I have a complete guide on sanity in Demonologist that you might want to check out for that.

Now, let’s get in depth and see what are some hiding spots in Demonologist and how to actually survive when an entity starts attacking you!

How to survive a hunt in Demonologist

When a hunt begins (aka a ghost starts attacking), all the exits and doors close so you can’t get out. Your only way of surviving this is outsmarting the spirit.

In order to do so, you will have to start running around the area you’re in and ideally find a hiding spot where the entity can’t see you (more on hiding spots below).

Looping the spirit works most of the time, also, but running is risky. This is why it’s best to find a hiding spot and stay quiet there until the danger passes.

Alternatively, you can have a crucifix equipped. This is an item you can purchase from the store and it will prevent you from dying. Or, better said, it will revive you instantly.

Have in mind that in order for a crucifix to work, you must have it equipped (hold it in your hand). This is also a one-time use item.

Pro tip: If there are multiple players playing the game when a hunt begins, and just one or some have a crucifix, you can try to outsmart the entity with it.

If the entity is hunting one of the players without the crucifix, those who have it can get in front of it to have it attack them instead and survive the day.

This way, you can all continue your quest to exorcise the entity in your area.

Demonologist Hiding Spots

If you don’t have a crucifix or you’d rather not use it if possible, you can try to hide from the entity. Each area has some places that are great hiding spots.

Just get there and stay quiet (don’t move, don’t use items that make noise) and the danger will eventually pass.

Here are some of the hiding spots that I have found in the game so far:

Abandoned House hiding spots

I had decent success simply running away from the entity and standing still in a dark room with the doors closed. Bathrooms work best here.

Usually, simply looping the spirit near the entrance of the map, until the spirit is gone, works most of the time. Or some of the time, actually.

I wasn’t able to find another spot that can be considered a safe hiding spot, as I did in Cyclone Street, for example. But I will update this section of the article if I do.

Cyclone Street Hiding Spots

Here, I managed to find a few great hiding spots.

For starters, you can go in the bedroom to the basement and hide there (be silent/still for a while). It’s a good area to think about solving Maria’s room puzzle too, which is, at the moment of writing, still not solved.

Other good places to hide here are the closet upstairs (in the office). Just close the doors and wait for the danger to pass.

The Hospital Hiding Spots

I haven’t played this much yet, but a good hiding spot seems the room next to the reception right at the entrance to the hospital.

All those small rooms (with supplies) are also good hiding spots if you can get to them fast enough. Just remember to get inside and close the door, then be silent.

You can also hide behind the privacy screens near the entrance, or those on the second floor.

Finally, you can hide in the bathroom on the first floor, at the end of the building.

Since this place is so huge, there are probably other good hiding spots here – I will update the article if I find more.

Kurosawa House Hiding Spots

At the moment of writing this article, the Kurosawa House map in the Demonologis game is not yet available. I will update the article with hiding spots for it once it becomes available.

Conclusion

As you can see, you do have some options when it comes to escaping the entity attacks / hunts in the Demonologist. Some entities are more difficult to escape than others and some maps seem to have more hiding spots than others.

The easiest way to prevent your character from getting slain is having a crucifix equipped. If not – just run around and hide in any of the hiding spots mentioned above.
