Demonologist: How to Identify & Exorcise All Entity Types in the Game

You have two main objectives each time you start a new Demonologist game: identify the entity lurking in the game and exorcising it.

Both tasks are extremely difficult, but if you want to level up and get the most out of the game, you have to do it, no matter if you play solo or with your friends.

And this is what we’re going to talk about in today’s article: how to identify all entities in Demonologist and then how to Exorcise them to successfully complete the mission.

(The truth: You will probably have a REALLY tough time completing that final part – but even identifying it correctly is still better than nothing, as you will complete side-quest and still get XP/rewards).

How to Identify All Entities in Demonologist

Demonlogist game: identifying demon

Before you are able to exorcise the entity in Demonologist, you must correctly identify it.

There are seven different types of evidence that you can find while playing, but only finding the correct combination will help you to identify the entity.

Each possible type of evidence will be uncovered while exploring the area in the game, using various devices that your Demonologist can equip (sometimes after purchasing/unlocking them by completing side quests).

demonlogist evidence list

These are the seven types of evidence in the game. Various combinations will point out to a different entity:

  • EMF Level 5
  • Fingerprint
  • Easel Canvas Drawing
  • Freezing Temperatures
  • ESG Ghost Reactions
  • Ectoplasm Stains
  • Spirit Box Response

Each of these possible types of evidence can be found while exploring the area, no matter if you’re playing alone or with your friends.

You will need to use the in-game tools to uncover some of the different types of evidence (such as Ectoplasm stains, which are really difficult to see) or getting an actual response from the Ghosts.

Since the evidence you can find during each game changes every time you play and they can appear virtually anywhere, the only real thing that you can do is to thoroughly explore the areas, complete side-quests in the process to get extra XP and they money required to unlock new tools.

With the new tools, go through the rooms/areas once more in order to find the evidence needed to correctly identify the entity.

The game makes it easy for you here: as you tick the different types of evidence you find, it ticks off the entities that don’t match the said criteria.

Here is the full list of the 24 entities you can find in Demonologist (and the types of evidence you need to identify them):

  • Abaddon (EMF, Freezing, Spirit Box)
  • Agash (Ectoplasm, Fingerprints, Freezing)
  • Boogey (EMF, ESG, Spirit Box)

PRO TIP: When identifying the entity in Demonologist, make sure to click on their names to learn about their Weaknesses and behavior. While not all entities have this entries filled out, some do, making it easier for you to correctly identify them.

Also make sure to take advantage of the option to tick off possible evidence from the list. While Ectoplasm and Fingerprints are tricky (difficult to see), some are easier to eliminate ASAP.

For example, always start by checking for freezing temperatures around you. This is the easiest evidence to either find or tick off, so start with it.

How to Exorcise Any Entity in Demonologist

After collecting all the evidence listed above, you will get the chance to guess the entity in your current in-game instance.

If you are playing with other friends, they must make the same guess in order to get to the next step, which is exorcising the demon / ghost.

Exorcising in the Demonologist game is a very difficult task. Early on, I actually recommend you to just leave the premises after identifying the spirit and replay to get better at this game.

Once you’re sure you can take on this difficult task, and after you correctly identify the entity, you must complete a new set of tasks before actually being able to exorcise.

The requirements vary from map to map, but in the starting one you will need to take a photo of the demon, having it blow off a candle and finally appearing as a silhouette through your Ectoplasm Glass.

You will then need to collect different items from the area you’re playing and complete the exorcism ritual. Fun things like fingers and such.

Wrapping up

With plenty of jump scares scattered throughout each area and with plenty of tasks to complete, Demonologist is a really difficult (but fun) horror game.

You now know more about identifying the ghosts in the game, but also how to prepare for the difficult task of exorcising.

If you have additional tips for making either of these two stages easier and less risky, don’t hesitate to share your comments down below.
