Best Dinosaurs to Tame in Ark Survival Ascended
There are many options to choose from and each dinosaur comes with unique abilities and features. For this list, I’ll include some great early and late-game options, so there will be options for everyone.

Yutyrannus
The Yutyrannus stands out due to its Fear ability, which increases damage taken and reduces damage dealt by enemies. Additionally, the Courage ability increases your damage and resistance. It’s overall an amazing dino for boss fights.
This dinosaur can be easily found anywhere in the snow and can be tamed with meat after knocking it out.
Moschops
The Moschops is the best early-game dinosaur to tame. It deals solid damage, can harvest berries and fiber, and doesn’t need a saddle.
You can find it anywhere on the map except in the snowy region.
The Rex
The Rex is a great tame that stands out due to its exceptionally high DPS and is your best option for boss fights and for hunting other dinos to farm meat and hide.
You can find the Rex anywhere on the north side of the island, except from snowy regions, and can be tamed with meat or Exceptional Kibble after knocking it out.
Argentavis
The Argentavis is one of the top dinosaurs to tame as it can fly and allows you to traverse the map faster and more safely. It also has a built-in smithy that you can use to craft while on the go.
On top of that, it comes with the Rapid Regeneration ability which allows it to heal itself quickly.
You can find the Argentavis easily on the north region of the map, both in the snowy biome and just outside of it. It can be tamed by knocking it out and feeding it meat or Superior Kibble.
Rhyniognatha
The Rhyniognatha is the best tame in Ark Survival Ascended as it can pick up large structures and dinosaurs, can swim and attack underwater, and has armor that reduces incoming damage by 50%. Additionally, it can use Resin as ammo and shoot from afar.
You can find it all over the Red Woods. To tame a Rhyniognatha in Ark, you’ll need to give Rhyniognatha Pheromone (gained by killing a Rhyniognatha) to one of your large dinosaurs and bring a low HP female Rhyniognattha near it to impregnate it.
