Omega Strikers: Tips & Tricks to Play a Better Game

Omega Strikers is a pretty unique and amazing game. And since it is so unique, there might be gameplay mechanics that you haven’t fully explored or focused yet.

In today’s article, I will make sure that you’ve got all the basics covered by sharing a complete set of Omega Strikers tips and tricks.

We’re going to check out some position-specific advice (for goalies and forwards, that is) but also some tips and strategies to use during the games in order to make sure that you do everything possible for your team to win.

Without further ado, let’s check out this hopefully useful list of tips and tricks for Omega Strikers!

1. Positioning matters

No matter if you are a goalie or a forward, the way you position your character can make all the difference in the world.

For forwards – try to position yourself in an open space, but NEVER in front of the goal. You never know how a lucky shot can end up scoring and if you’re in the way, you could prevent that from happening.

The same goes for goalies, but this time you need to be in front of the goal. Try to block your opponents’ way by placing obstacles and taking advantage of the various buffs and debuffs at your disposal.

2. Master a character!

My colleague David has already shared a tier list for Omega Strikers – so read it and choose one of the top characters in the game, then master them!

You won’t be able to master all the available characters – at least not early on – so it’s a better idea to focus on playing one over and over again.

You know, practice makes perfect, and with so many skills and unique mechanics to have in mind, you’re always better off focusing on one character at a time.

My top recommendation for now would be Era (check out an amazing Era build here) – but you can choose any character and become a master at controlling them.

3. Keep an eye on the edge

Since in this game you’ll usually be close and personal with your opponents, make sure to take advantage if any of them goes near the edge. If they do, push them out in order to gain a massive advantage.

However, don’t make knocking off opponents your only goal during a match. While this is useful, your teammates to need the extra man and you could waste plenty of opportunities to score if you only focus on pushing others out.

As a reverse to the offensive tactic, make sure to always be careful not to spend too much time close to the edge, especially if you’re on low stagger!

4. Master the finishing shots

A strategy that works well with all the chaos in the game and especially in front of the goal is this: try to hit the ball to one of your opponents, so that they hit it back trying to get it away from the goal.

If you manage to catch the ball, they’ll be in cooldown mode and unable to do anything, giving you a better chance to score. Of course, this requires some practice, but it works more often than not, so it’s a nice strategy to try and follow if you play a forward.

5. Learn to aim all your shots

You don’t have to be about to score in order to have to master your shot. This is something you should master for when passing to your teammates also.

Everything is extremely fast-paced during the game, so it might seem difficult at first, but always try to aim instead of randomly shooting the core straight ahead.

6. Keep the stress on the goalie

A good strategy to apply when the goalie has the ball or when the core is in the goal is to try and force a mistake. You can do so by using your abilities and getting up close and personal.

Putting other players under pressure forces mistakes and you can take advantage of those to put your team ahead.

7. Pay attention to trainings

While you can get more in depth with this by reading the previously published Omega Strikers trainings guide, the tldr would be that you should always spend time to customize them.

Select trainings that fit your character’s profile, improve their existing abilities – but also your own play style.

8. Learn to be a team player

This is a skill that many people need to learn, unfortunately.

Everybody wants to score and in most games, you will see a mass gathering around the core… but that’s not the best way to play if you want to win.

Learn to be a team player instead. Don’t always follow the ball and don’t always try to be the one who scores. Instead, especially when getting close to the goal, try to pass to a teammate that is open.

In almost all cases this strategy will catch the opponents off-guard (since they’ll be coming in hard on you) and it will result in a point for your team.

More goalie-specific tips & tricks

Even though playing the goalie in Omega Strikers doesn’t seem as the most fun thing to do, somebody has to fill that role and if you are the one who has to, make sure you do it better than anybody else.

This means, first and most important, to stick to at least your own half of the court – ideally as close to the goal as possible. No point in giving your opponents an easy chance!

Also, it’s a good strategy yo learn to hit opponents that are nearby and without the ball. As long as you manage to stay away from the edge, you can do some serious damage!

Finally, remember that the best way to push the core away is to the sides. If you just hit it forward and an opponent gets it, you won’t have a second chance.

More forward-specific tips & tricks

Although your main goal is to be up front and score goals for your team, don’t hesitate to actually follow your opponents back into your own half and play your part for the defense.

However, this doesn’t mean that you should start acting as a goalie. Some players do this and while they do so in frustration in most cases, you should still let your goalie do their job and you focus on being ready to move forward and score.

If you’re playing more of a support character, then do focus on helping your teammates by Poking them when necessary or by taking advantage of your ranged abilities.
