This can happen for many reasons including sacrifices, murder, failure to complete missions, natural causes, or simply because you don’t like them anymore.

However, after a follower dies, players will need to take care of their body. While you can leave it to rot, it’s not the best option since it will cause sickness to your other followers.

Instead, a proper burial through the Body Pit building is the best option. In this guide, we’ll examine how to bury bodies in Cult of the Lamb, as well as how to unlock the Body Pit.

To use the Body Pit, simply interact with a dead body and take it to the pit. The sole purpose of this building is to prevent dead bodies from rotting, which can cause illnesses in your cult.

Players should build the Body Pit as early as possible, to avoid having any dead body incidents.

How to gain Divine Inspiration

To unlock the Body Pit, as well as other upgrades, you need to progress your Divine Inspiration tier by gaining Devotion.

The best way to do that is by growing your cult and having your followers pray at the central shrine. Keep in mind that higher-level followers yield more devotion.

Players can also gain Divine Inspiration while exploring dungeons, primarily from statues of other leaders. Select ‘Steal Devotion’ for some extra Divine Inspiration points.

Another option, albeit less effective than the previous ones, is through other, advanced buildings. Tabernacle (Tier 2), Grand Shelter (Tier 4), and Devotion Harvest Totem (Tier 5) all provide some extra Devotion.
