The Myreque Hideouts

The Myreque Tunnels or Hideouts are a series of underground tunnels and caves in Morytania used by the Myreque resistance. The Myrequev resistance was formed to liberate Morytania from Lord Drakan and the vampyres, led by Veliaf Hurtz and Safalaan Hallow.

Lord Drakan has been ruling over Morytania for a long time, corrupting the land and turning it into a blood farm. Adventurers can access the tunnels through the Myreque quest line when tasked to help the rebels move bases.

OSRS offers players countless ways to shape their characters however they desire, but to achieve that, a lot of grinding is required. Wouldn’t you like to have all the means necessary to upgrade your character in the palm of your hand, so that you can enjoy your build instantly?

Introduction to the Myreque

The Myreque resistance was founded in the Fifth Age, slowly recruiting new members ever since. Currently, it has two hideouts, one in Meiyerditch and another in Mort Myre Swamp, later being moved to the Burgh De Rott hideout.

Players are introduced to the resistance by a stranger in Hair of the Dog tavern who is secretly plotting to destroy them.

The stranger, vampyre Vanstrom Klause, follows the adventurer into the Mort Myre hideout and kills Sani Piliu and Harold Evans. In the process, the vampyre unleashes his Skeletal hellhound to finish the rest of the resistance members but the player manages to slay it, earning the respect of the Myreque.

At a later date, the sister of Lord Drakan, Vanescula, allied with the Myreque to get rid of Lord Drakan as she deemed him unfit to rule due to his lack of leadership. The vampyre nobles were getting restless as their numbers increased but human blood was getting more scarce.

This is the closest the Myreque got to defeating Lord Drakan as Vanescula helped
them gain entry into Castle Drakan. Unfortunately, Lord Drakan quickly uncovered their true motive and captured Vanescula, leaving Vanstrom to dispatch the Myreque and the player.

The remainder of Myreque managed to flee and are later disbanded as they learn their leader never existed, leaving the members unwilling to continue with the resistance.

The Mort Myre Hideout

The initial hideout used by the Myreque members was located under the Mort Myre
Swamp. This hideout was in an excellent location due to many tunnels underneath which could have been used for the resistance’s operations.

It could be accessed through the Hair of the Dog tavern or a hollow tree guarded by Curpile Fyod. Unfortunately, with the Search of Myreque quest, the hideout gets compromised and two members get killed by Vanstrom Klause, forcing the remaining members to flee to another location.

The Burgh de Rott Hideout

Burgh de Rott is a large town in Southern Morytania where the members of the Mort Myre hideout fled to.

Veliaf Hurtz, Polmafi Ferdygris, Radigad Ponfit, and Ivan Strom chose one of the inns of Burgh de Rott as their base of operations because the town is situated close by the Lord Drakan’s Sanguinesti region and is deemed abandoned, making it an ideal location.

The Burgh de Rott Hideout is frequently visited during the In the Aid of the Myreque quest.

The Meiyerditch Hideout

Meiyerditch, once a prosperous capital of the kingdom of Hallowvale, is the largest city of Morytania, a region ruled by Lord Drakan and his family of vampyres. The city was conquered by the vampyres in the Third Age and was turned into a blood farm.

Its population is divided among four sectors to enforce order and organize blood farming. Lord Drakan rules the city from Castle Drakan in Darkmeyer, situated in the northern part of the city.

During the Darkness of Hallowvale quest, the adventurer is informed of the Sanguinesti Order, a group of well-organized Myreque members operating from an underground barrack below the city. The hideout holds supplies invaluable for the effort.

To enter the Meiyerditch Hideout, players have to inquire with Old Man Ral about its location. The old man will instruct the player to slash a tapestry and push a secret lever in his house to uncover a trapdoor used to gain entry to the hideout.
