Are you trying to make your way through the large and heavily guarded prison at the center of the map? This Iron Throne guide for Baldur’s Gate 3 will help you navigate the prison and complete all the quests there with ease.
After entering the Iron Throne, you will have eight turns (six in normal difficulty) to save as many prisoners as you can and you’ll need to optimize your movements to save everyone.
In this BG3 Iron Throne guide, I will explain how to complete the quest in this area easily by showcasing how to act on all eight turns to save every prisoner.

How to Get to the Iron Throne in Baldur’s Gate 3

To access the Iron Throne in Baldur’s Gate 3, navigate to the Lower City map and travel just right of the Grey Harbour Docks. You’ll find a locked Double Metal Door there, which can be opened with a DC of 20.
To navigate inside, I recommend using invisibility to avoid combat. After heading in, turn immediately left and you’ll find a hidden basement hatch just below some crates. Follow the path straight until you enter the docks where the Submersible Hatch is located.
Head inside and when Lord Enver Gortash asks you to turn back, ignore him and head to the Iron Throne.
Iron Throne Walkthrough Guide in BG3
After taking the submersible, you’ll find yourself inside the Iron Throne. Depending on the difficulty setting chosen, you’ll have limited turns. If you want to save all prisoners, I recommend easy difficulty as it will grant you eight turns.
For this Iron Throne walkthrough guide in BG3, I’m opting for easy difficulty and I’ll showcase how to act on each of the eight turns to save everyone.
Before starting your first turn, make sure to save as you may need to restart this mission multiple times, especially if you want to save everyone.
For the first three turns (two if on standard difficulty) you should split all your characters and try to open all far doors within the facility (ignore the inner area doors for now).
Use movement spells like Misty Step and items like Speed Elixir to cover more distance quickly and split your characters in all four directions.
Additionally, make sure to kill any enemies near the middle as you’ll need to make it back alive with the prisoners.
For the next three turns (two if on standard difficulty), your goal is to start returning to the middle.
The character that saved Omeluum can teleport back to the submersible immediately with Omeluum’s ability, which makes things slightly easier.
This character, since he’ll be back on turn four, can focus on opening the inner area doors from before. Omeluum can move to save another far prisoner and teleport back with them.
Lastly, the final two turns should be spent trying to get everyone on the submersible. Make sure to have a character on the upper floor to guide everyone and all prisoners will head toward the submersible.
In easy difficulty with eight turns available, it’s definitely possible to escape will all prisoners alive.
However, if you’re on a higher difficulty setting and have fewer turns, it will be much harder and you may need to make some compromises depending on your luck.
Of course, you can always restart multiple times after starting the mission until you fully optimize your movement and strategy for each turn.
Wrapping up
To sum up this Iron Throne guide in Baldur’s Gate 3, that’s everything you need to do if you want to save every prisoner in time.
You may need to restart multiple times but it’s possible to save every prisoner in eight or even six turns.

This sounds encouraging. I found a map showing where the Duke is & hopefully this, with your plan, will do the trick. I’m on Easy level, as this is my first runthrough & I’m very new at this style of game. (So far, I’m having a blast! lol)
