Engineer Abilities Explained in Yet Another Zombie Survivors
The Engineer has three abilities in YAZS:
- Electrocution – Damage all Zombies around you every 20s (leveling up reduces cooldown).
- Electric Turret – Place a turret that deals AoE damage (leveling up reduces cooldown).
- Energy Shield – Spawn a shield that moves with you and damages any enemies that touch it (leveling up reduces cooldown and increases damage).
The best Engineer ability to level up first is the Energy Shield, followed by Electrocution. Energy Shield allows you to simply run through hordes of enemies and kill them just because they are touching the shield.
Electrocution will clear all non-boss enemies from around you every few seconds, which makes it one of the best abilities in YAZS.
Lastly, the Electric Turret can be useful during the first waves but only then. In the late game, it falls off a lot while it’s borderline useless in Hardcore mode since you’ll be running around constantly.
Best Engineer Weapon
The Engineer has four weapon choices in Yet Another Zombie Survivors:
- Taser – Pistol that deals shock damage with a high rate of fire.
- Tesla – Shock damage rifle that deals continuous electric damage and bounces off enemies.
- Blaster – Rocket Launcher that deals AoE damage.
- Laser – Shoots a laser in a straight line that deals damage to all enemies hit.
While the Blaster and the Laser sound great in theory, they feature low damage and are fairly inconsistent. Due to that, the best weapon for the Engineer is the Tesla.
The best thing you can do is upgrade the Tesla to max and never upgrade to the other weapons. If you have the chance, you can banish them.
Best Engineer Team in Yet Another Zombie Survivors
The best team for the Engineer is any team comp that focuses on high rate of fire builds. Since the Energy Shield will damage all zombies and leave them on low HP, you’ll need something to finish them off.
Thus, the best team for the Engineer is to pair him with the Tank and the SWAT.
The Tank should use the Minigun to easily take down enemies, while the Bombing Strike ability will deal AoE damage to anything that’s outside your Shield radius.
The SWAT will use the Assault Rifle and Deployable Turret to deal solid damage quickly and help finish off bosses.
In terms of abilities, avoid the Electric Turret, the Sawblades, the Mines, and the Grenades while upgrading everything else. Max out the weapons of the Tank and SWAT, while leaving the Engineer at the Tier 2 Tesla.
