How to Unlock the Flametongue Sword in FF16
To unlock the Flametongue Sword in Final Fantasy XVI, players will need to progress the main story until reaching the quest “The Meaning of Life”.
During this quest, Clive and Jill will return to Eastpool to uncover a tragic event that occurred. While I won’t spoil the quest, completing it will allow you to craft the Flametongue Sword in The Hideaway.
This sword will offer a solid 180 Attack Damage and Stagger Damage.
How to Craft the Flametongue Sword in FF16
Unlocking the crafting recipe is only the first step as you’ll also need to collect various materials. Specifically, to craft the Flametongue Sword in Final Fantasy 16, you will need to collect the following items:
- 1x Stormcry
- 1x Fire Shard
- 1x Meteorite
To unlock Stormcry in FF16, you’ll need to defeat Garuda and use the Wind Shard.
As for how to get the Fire Shard, defeat Ifrit in the “Buried Memories” main story quest. In this quest, you’ll also be able to unlock and use Limit Break for the first time.
Lastly, to get Meteorite in Final Fantasy 16, simply explore the world as it is one of the most common materials and can be gained by defeating various enemies and opening chests. Additionally, it can be purchased from Charon’s Toll at the price of 1,000 Gil.
Here are all the enemies that can drop Meteorite in FF16 after defeating them:
- Tiamat
- Midnight Raven
- Benedikta
- Garuda
- Knight of the Dying Sun
- Akashic Dragon
- Akashic Morbol
- Hugo
- Iron Giant
- Republican War Panther
Ideally, you’ll get it while defeating Garuda, an enemy that also drops the Wind Shard.
