You must have stumbled upon weeds if you’ve been racing or exploring through Big Butte County for long enough. These small Lego bushes can slow your vehicle down, and latch onto your tires, which is incredibly frustrating.
In this guide, I will show all the weed locations in Big Butte County, in LEGO 2K Drive. I will also go over how to remove them, and what are the benefits of removing these weeds from these locations.
As you know the Legend of Zelda can be hard on newer players, so check out our guide on the small fairy locations and where to find more, in Tears of the Kingdom.
LEGO 2K Drive: How to Remove Weeds and What Are the Benefits
While you can simply avoid weeds, the only way to destroy weeds and remove them is to use any vehicle that has a lawnmower attachment. This type of attachment will cut through weeds without affecting your car’s speed.
To find this specific vehicle, you will need to complete a side quest. Appearing early into the game, this quest is called Weed Wrangling. Once you arrive at the side quests location, you’ll find a Lego alien figurine.
Talk to him and he’ll explain that he needs your help in mowing down the patch of weeds behind him.
This is a time-based mission, so you’ll want to complete it as fast as possible. Remember that if you find yourself struggling to complete it, tap or hold space to do a quick turn.
With a quick turn, you will be able to change your car’s direction fast, and save the few seconds you will need to complete this side quest.
When you complete the quest, you’ll be rewarded with the Weed Chopper 5000, the same vehicle you just used in the side quest to tear through weeds.
Go to the menu and click on the loadout button, then off-road vehicles. From here you’ll be able to equip the Weed Chopper 5000 with your current loadout, arming you with the tools you’ll need to remove weeds
Why is it worth your time to complete this side quest, and to remove the weeds?
Mowing down weeds after you have the Weed Chopper 5000 turns them into LEGO crystal plants. Running over these plants will rapidly recharge your speed boost, and repair your vehicle.
These crystal plants will persist during open-world exploration, as well as various races that pass through that location, granting a useful advantage during competitions.
