Auto eating is extremely important in Melvor Idle, as it makes combat a lot easier and… well… idle. Today we’re going to learn how to eat food automatically in the game.
To enable auto eating in Melvor Idle, you will need to buy the Auto Eat upgrade from the shop and have enough food equipped to last you for as long as possible.
This sounds easy and straightforward, but there are always extra things to consider when it come to auto eating, and I will cover them all below.
Melvor Idle: Full guide to auto eating
The first and most important part when it comes to being able to eat food automatically in Melvor Idle is buying at least the Auto Eat – Tier 1 upgrade from the shop, in the “General Upgrades” section.
In order to get it, you will have to spend 1,000K gold coins, which is seems pretty expensive if you’re just starting the game. Make sure to read my Melvor Idle tips and tricks to make more money fast and play the game better overall.
Another important aspect when it comes to auto eating is having enough food. Getting seeds in Melvor Idle and then farming is a great way to ensure that you have enough food.
Early on though, you will most likely need to take a more active approach and do some fishing. Shrimp is the main thing to fish for early on, but better foods will become available as you progress.
I recommend having at least 1,000 Shrimp (or equivalent foods) if you plan to do idle combat over the night. But this greatly depends on the type of enemy you choose.
The more food you have, the better, because if you run out of food, your character will be defeated.
IMPORTANT: When you auto eat, the food you consume will heal a lower amount than it would if you were to eat manually. Have this in mind when deciding how much food you need for your current combat situation.
The % healed will increase as you purchase additional tiers for the Auto Eat upgrade.
Conclusion
As long as you have enough food to last for as long as you won’t be actively playing the game, and as long as you have at least the Auto Eat – Tier 1 unlocked in Melvor Idle, you can safely eat automatically during your combat sessions.
This is pretty straightforward once you know how to do it, but if you have other questions regarding the game, don’t hesitate to ask below.
