Sellings items is a great way to make money and to avoid getting encumbered. Let’s examine where to sell stuff in Starfield and the best shop vendor in the game.
Thankfully, there is a selling vendor in almost every corner of the game and all of them offer the same prices. However, there are a few that manage to stand out for convenience reasons.
In this guide, I will explain where to sell stuff and the best place to sell in Starfield.
Before moving on, check out our guide on how to store items on your ship in Starfield.
Best Places to Sell Stuff in Starfield

The best places to sell stuff in Starfield depend on your current cargo. If you’re carrying contraband goods, the best location is The Den in the Wolf system as they won’t check for contraband.
Alternatively, if you have a few stuff and want to sell items quickly, I highly recommend visiting any Trade Authority Kiosk.
These are located near Ship Services Technicians in major spaceports and allow you to sell items quickly after landing. The best part is that you can sell items there directly from your ship’s Cargo Hold or Captain’s Locker.
Lastly, here are some other convenient store locations in Starfield based on the system you’re in:
- Alpha Centauri – Atlantis (convenient early-game area)
- Volii – Neon Core (all stores are extremely close and there are various stores available)
- Cheyenne – Akila (most populated area in the Cheyenne system with multiple stores)
- Kryx – The Key (Crimson Fleet-owned city, useful for selling when you have a bounty over your head. To sell there, you must be friendly with the Crimson Fleet)
If you’re having a hard time locating a shop, here’s our step-by-step guide on how to find the Jemison Mercantile store in New Atlantis. Since most cities are vast, it can be hard to locate the store you’re looking for.
Visit any of these areas and you’ll find a wide variety of shops close together where you can sell any items you want.
How to Reset Vendor Credits in Starfield
While there are various vendors around the map, all of them have limited credits available, and won’t be able to buy all of your stuff before they run out of credits.
To reset vendor credits in Starfield, you must wait 48 in-game hours. Find any nearby location where you can pass the time and wait for two full days. Afterward, you’ll notice the shop has refilled on credits and you’re able to sell again.
Rinse and repeat based on how many items you want to sell.
However, since you’ll be skipping in-game days, make sure you have enough credits on the side to deal with any mortgage payments you have pending.
If you don’t have enough credits and want to find the best way to fill your ship with loot before selling, check out our Starfield money farm guide on how to get more credits fast.

In conclusion, the best places to sell stuff in Starfield include The Den in the Wolf system, Trade Authority Kiosks in major cities, and the largest city in the closest system to your location.
Visit any of these vendors and you’ll be able to start making solid money by selling your items.
