Are you trying to find Sulfur in Palworld and craft Gunpowder but don’t know where? Let’s showcase its location and all you must know.
In short, you can find Sulfur in the small desert patch northwest of the starting spawn. It will require further exploration, but it’s worth it since you can also find some great mining Pals there.
Let’s go through everything you need to know about Sulfur and where to use it.
Sulfur Location in Palworld – Where to Find
The best location to farm Sulfur in Palworld is the small desert patch on the northwest side of the map, as shown in the image above. Within this desert biome are various Sulfur nodes, and you can mine them just like Ore nodes.
This desert is also an ideal location for catching Anubis and Digtoise, two amazing Pals needed to build an infinite ore farm in Palworld.
Each node will grant you 40 Sulfur (20 if you’re on Hard difficulty with fewer resources), which is precisely the same amount as Ore nodes.
Keep in mind that the desert also includes Stone and Ore nodes, so there’s not a lot of Sulfur. However, you don’t need that much as it doesn’t have many uses.
Also, since this location is fairly far from a fast travel point, I recommend bringing a Pal like Cattive or Broncherry to increase your weight capacity and let you grab more Sulfur before you have to return to base.
Unfortunately, there’s no location with multiple Sulfur nodes close to each other where it’s worth building a base.
Where to Use Sulfur
Now that you have enough Sulfur, there’s only one way to use it and that is to make Gunpowder at the High Quality Workbench.
You’ll unlock Gunpowder at Technology Level 21, and you’ll need Charcoal and Sulfur to craft it. Charcoal can be obtained at any Furnace at the cost of Wood. Thankfully, Sulfur is used raw, and you don’t need to smelt it.
Now, you can use Gunpowder for various useful items like explosive grenades and ammo for your guns.

To summarize, you can find Sulfur nodes in Palworld by mining in the small desert area on the northwest side of the map. Follow the picture above to find it, and don’t forget to catch some of the Pals there, as they’re great mining workers.
After mining enough Sulfur, use a Furnace to make Charcoal and combine the two at a Quality Workbench to make Gunpowder, an essential ingredient for crafting ammo and explosives.
