What Does a Captain Do in Wartales?
The Captain has one main purpose in Wartales and that is to buff allies by using the Galvanize Troops skill.
Galvanize Troops allows all nearby allied units to get bonus temporary action points for one round.
This ability will affect any allied units nearby the Captain when used. Due to that, the Captain should be positioned in the middle of your party before using this skill.
Other than this skill, the Captain has no extra benefits or skills.
Keep in mind that ‘Galvanize Troops’ can only be used once per encounter.
Who to Appoint as Captain in Wartales?
Since the Captain will need to be in the middle of your party to gain the most out of ‘Galvanize Troops’, I highly recommend appointing as Captain any unit that has other support skills too.
Since it will be positioned in the middle of your army, it will have a prime position for using more support skills.
For instance, I recommend using a Spearman as your Captain with the Battle Cry skill. This skill applies Fury to all nearby allies, which increases the damage of their next attack by 50%.
Combined with ‘Galvanize Troops’, your party will be able to deal significant damage to any enemies in your wake.
