In one of the early game quests in Undawn, players will be tasked with crafting two Yarns.
To craft Yarn, access the “Craft Armor” tab in the Workbench and combine all the materials needed to craft it.

How to Craft Yarn in Undawn
One of the first quests in the game is named “[Guide] Unfinished Goods” and will require players to craft two Wooden Boards and two Yarns.
To craft Yarn in Undawn, players will need to access a Workbench, navigate to the “Craft Armor” tab, and combine the following materials:
- 20x Plant Fiber
- 4x Iron Ore
- 5x Common Flaxseed
- 1x Phlogopite
- 3x Common Flax Fibers
The quest will require you to craft two Yarns, so make sure to double these materials if you’re trying to complete it.
The tricky part is getting your hands on all of those ingredients as some are harder to acquire than others. Let’s see how to get each of those ingredients in turn.
To get Phlogopite, players will need to go mining in Redwood Forest. This ore has a small chance of dropping whenever you mine a rock. Iron ore can be obtained by mining the same stones in Redwood Forest and it’s easier to get.
Keep in mind that to use Phlogopite in crafting, you’ll need to refine it first via the Raw Material Workbench.
As for how to get Common Flaxseed and Common Flax Fibers in Undawn, players will need to harvest any Lv. 1 Common Flax found around the Redwood Outpost Area. The best way to find it is by checking your minimap and following the green leaf markers.
Lastly, Plant Fiber is obtained by clearing grass in your Homestead or by gathering Common Flax. Thus, by gathering Common Flax, you’ll have a chance to get three of the five materials you’ll need.
With everything crafted and refined, you’ll be able to visit the Workbench and craft the Yarn you need.
