While you’re exploring the latest update in the game, consider checking out our guide on how to defeat the other major boss introduced in it: The Ghost Sea Bride.
In this guide, I will explain how to defeat the Lord of the Void Sea in Torchlight Infinite by showcasing all of its moves and mentioning what rewards to expect.
Lord of the Void Sea Difficulty Explained
This boss has three difficulty levels, also known as invitations. Invitation 1 is the easiest, while invitation 3 is extremely challenging (requires 4.0 billion DPS for a chance to complete).
For this guide, I’ll focus on invitation 1, which also sets the foundations for the other 2.
To summon the Lord of the Void Sea, go to the Great Void and place Void Sea Invitation – Craving. This will start the easiest of the three fights.
For increased difficulty, add both Craving and Ecstasy invitations, while for the highest difficulty, you’ll need to add Craving, Ecstasy, and Sorrow.
Lord of the Void Sea All Attack Moves
The Lord of the Void Sea has 12 attack patterns. Let’s examine each of them in turn.
The boss summons barrels in various formations. These can be walked on safely but will explore when the boss hits them with its anchor.
The explosion damage and effects vary based on the boss’ anchor color.
- No color – Barrels explode and cause chain explosions
- Purple – Barrels deal increased damage and damage-over-time while also leaving purple pools on the ground that should be avoided
- Orange (fire) – Barrels deal fire damage
- Green – Barrels have smaller explosion radius but deal erosion damage and leave harmless polls on the ground
The boss tosses five barrels toward the player. Keep moving around the boss to dodge them.
The boss attacks with its anchor. While this deals low damage, it activates any barrels hit and causes them to explode.
The boss summons 12 barrels in a circle which move towards the outer side of the arena and then come back to the center. They deal no damage unless activated by an Achor Attack.
Barrel Circle (Stationary)
For this move, the boss summons a circle of barrels somewhere in the arena. While harmless at first, the boss follows up with an attack that causes them to explode, so start running immediately.
The camera zooms out slightly and the boss fills the arena with barrels. Keep an eye out on the boss’ anchor color and dodge any exploding barrels.
Change Anchor Color
After channeling for two seconds, the boss changes its anchor color and follows up with a projectile attack.
After charging, the boss throws its anchor in a slow-moving projectile that causes barrels to explode with additional effects based on the anchor’s color.
The boss slams its anchor into the ground and causes eight anchors in rapid succession to fall at the player’s location.
Keep moving until all eight anchors drop.
The boss summons cannons behind it that aim at the player. After a few seconds, they start continuously shooting projectiles. Keep moving to avoid all projectiles.
Cannons (Boss Leaves the Arena)
The boss jumps on its anchor and disappears. Then, cannons appear on all sides of the arena and start shooting.
First, move toward the exact center to dodge all the outer cannons. Then, move toward the far north side, behind the cannons that spawned to dodge all remaining attacks.
During the entire fight, the boss will summon monsters that are fairly weak. However, players shouldn’t underestimate them and should try to kill them whenever possible.
This is because they can get easily overwhelmed by them if left unattended.
Lord of the Void Sea Rewards
As the final and hardest boss of the Blacksail update, the Lord of the Void Sea provides great rewards.
Specifically, players can expect multiple Hero Relics and Memories. Additionally, there is also the exclusive legendary drop ‘Entanglement of the Immortal’.
To sum up, that’s everything you need to know on how to defeat the Lord of the Void Sea in Torchlight Infinite.
