The Crust is an amazing automated base builder set on the Moon, with plenty of challenges for players. One of them is saving the Hope 2 crew, which usually proves to be more difficult than you might expect.

It’s so difficult that I decided to create this guide and tell you how to easily rescue your crew in the game. It’s a lot easier than, let’s say, romancing all bachelorettes in My Time at Sandrock.

So, what’s the problem with this quest?

You will only get this quest if you decide to choose “I’ll accommodate the station crew at my base” instead of focusing on restoring deliveries to earth: this is the first choice you make in the game, early on after starting to play.

The main reason why many people fail to complete it is how slow the cargo truck is. Traveling from the first escape pod to the second and then back to the base takes too much time if you’re not planning accordingly, and you will fail the mission.

While there might be various other ways to make this work, an easy solution I found is this:

First, when you start sending your rover to explore the area (the repeater), also have the slower cargo truck follow it. You will have to manually guide it on the map – and have in mind that it’s slower.

But as long as you follow the same path, you will get to the escape pods almost as soon as they are found. Don’t even worry about the battery of the cargo truck – it has unlimited battery, so it works during the night as well.

So simply have your cargo truck follow the rover, grab the crew as soon as possible from each escape pods and get back to base, even if that means traveling during the night. It takes some manual tinkering and maybe a bit of trial and error – but it works.
