Star Ocean The Divine Force – Best Weapons

There are various weapons available in Star Ocean The Divine Force, ranging from early-game options to late-game, best-in-slot choices.

While the best weapon will depend on your characters’ level and story progression, for this guide, I’ll focus on the best post-game weapons.

Assuming you can get and craft every weapon in the game, which one should you go for?

Also, before focusing on the best weapons, make sure you’re aware of all the pros and cons of choosing each of the main characters in the game. There are differences in the story and in the unlockable features based on whether you chose Laeticia or Raymond.

In this guide, I will explain the best post-game weapons for each character in Star Ocean The Divine Force, and focus on how to get them.

Best Weapon For Each Character

Compared to previous games of the franchise, The Divine Force features an overhauled combat system that feels more flexible and smooth overall.

There are 10 characters in Star Ocean The Divine Force, two of which are optional based on the main character you chose.

Theo can only be unlocked if you choose Laeticia, while JJ is exclusive to Raymond’s storyline.

Of course, each character has their own best weapon, which depends on weapon type, stats, and unique effects.

The recommended weapons have the highest stats possible and their unique effects buff the equipped character perfectly.

Here are all the characters and the best weapon for each of them.

Raymond – Scorching Marmyadose

To get the scorching marmyadose, you will need to get Raymond’s smithery skill to level 10, and also acquire a philosopher’s stone.

Philosopher’s stones are dropped by various bosses at the end game or crafted via alchemy from exalthium crystals.

Laeticia – Gearr nan Colann

Laeticia’s weapon has the exact same requirements as Raymond’s: level-10 smithing and a philosopher’s stone.

Keep in mind that only Laeticia can craft this weapon.

Elena – Fragarach RAID

This weapon can only be created by Elena after getting the engineering skill to level 10. To create this, you will need two integration units and there is a significantly low chance of getting it.

Keep in mind that integration units can be purchased from Santa’s shop at Ultima Thule but they are fairly expensive.

Albaird – Hatsoiilhal

Albaird’s weapon can only be gained as a drop from certain mobs. Specifically, it can be dropped on the third floor of Ultima Thule, after you’ve defeated the Ethereal Queen to replace human characters with mobs.

While there will be a variety of mobs there, the one that can drop Albaird’s weapon is the Hell Wheel.

Equip drop-boosting gear and keep repeating this fight until you get the drop.

Nina – Gjallarbjalla

This weapon is simple but expensive to get. Players can get Nina’s weapon from Santa’s shop at the Ultima Thule location at the price of 1,500,000 Fol.

Midas – Gambanteinn of Gales

Similar to previous weapons, Midas’ best weapon requires a philosopher stone. However, in addition to that, it also requires level 10 crafting skill.

Malkya – Jarngreipr

Malkya’s weapon, similar to most weapons in this list, is gained through item creation by using philosopher’s stones.

It requires the crafting skill at level 10 and some luck.

Marielle – Atsoolaghal K’aa’

Similar to Elena’s weapon, Marielle’s gun requires level 10 engineering and 2 integration units.

While it’s hard to get, it offers significant buffs to Mariella’s kit.

JJ & Theo – Futsu-mitama

Similar to Nina’s weapon, JJ and Theo’s best weapon can be bought from Santa’s shop at Ultima Thule for 1,500,000 Fol.

Conclusion

In short, these are the best weapons for each character in Star Ocean The Divine Force.

Some are gained via crafting, while others are bought directly from Santa’s shop. The only exception is Albaird’s best weapon, which can only be dropped by a certain enemy.
