How to Tame Creatures in Smalland Survive the Wilds
Taming creatures in Smalland is a fairly simple process. It requires damaging the creature until it reaches below 50% HP and then giving it a specific treat based on the type of creature.
Thus, let’s see where to find DamselFlies and how to craft their favorite treats.
Where to Find & Tame a DamselFly in Smalland: Survive the Wilds
DamselFlies can be found in various locations around the map. The most common spot is just south of the spawn, near the river. There are two locations there, one on a fallen log and one in a lake with multiple lilypads.
Additionally, there is a spawn location on the far north and the far east side of the island.
To tame the DamselFly, damage it until it reaches below 50% HP and then interact with it to feed it a DamselFly Treat.
However, getting your hands on this treat is the hardest part of the process. Let’s see how to get it.
How to Unlock and Craft a DamselFly Treat
The DamselFly Treat is the last treat you’ll unlock in Smalland. It requires beating the game’s final boss, the King Stag Beetle.
By defeating it, you’ll get the Clover Key. If you give that key to The Elder NPC, he will unlock the DamselFly Treat for you.
Then, to craft the actual DamselFly Treat, you’ll need a Stone Oven and the following materials:
- 3x Firefly Juice (Obtained by killing Fireflies which can be found either on the top left side of the map near the Black Hornet at the Sewers or on a small island just northeast of the Spider Matriarch).
- 1x Petal (Obtained by chopping plants like Mauve Plants which can be found near the starting area).
- 2x Seed Oil (Get seeds by cutting down Rye and Poppies and convert Seeds into Seed Oil at a Stonecutter).
The hardest part is unlocking the recipe. After that, collecting the required materials is fairly straightforward.
With everything ready, find a DamselFly, damage it, and interact with it to give the DamselFly Treat and tame it.
