Risk of Rain Returns Artifacts List & Where to Find Them

Are you interested in unlocking all artifacts in Risk of Rain Returns? Here’s where to find each one in the game.

There are 14 artifacts in total and they are spread out all around the map. To help you get them all, let’s go through all of them in turn.

Artifact of Honor

To unlock the Artifact of Honor, head to the Desolate Forest (variants 1, 2), and cross the gap by the waterfall shown in the picture above. Head straight and you’ll be able to find it.

Artifact of Kin

To get the Artifact of Kin, head to the Dried Lake (variants 1, 2, 3) and head to the far right side of the map. Shoot and break the wall marked in the picture above (takes 5-10 shots) and get in the wall passage.

Inside, there will be three buttons (one on the top right and two below it) and you must press them all quickly to solve the puzzle and get the artifact.

Artifact of Distortion

The artifact of Distortion can be found in the Damp Caverns stage (variants 1, 2, 3), in the top right corner. You’ll see some floating platforms and the bottom one will have a button that you must press.

This will summon the artifact in the shrine below you.

Artifact of Spite

To unlock the Artifact of Spite, go to the Sky Meadow (variants 1, 2, 3) and reach the area shown above. You must break through the cracked floor and then complete the jumping puzzle to get the artifact.

Artifact of Glass

To get the Artifact of Glass, go to the Ancient Valley stage (variants 1, 2, 3) and head inside the hidden mountain passage shown in the image above.

Once inside, you must press all buttons in quick succession, and at the far end of the path, the artifact will spawn. To make this easier, consider using the Loader base ultimate skill as it can hit all buttons at the same time.

Artifact of Enigma

For the Artifact of Enigma, navigate to the Sunken Tombs (variants 1, 2, 3) and drop through the floor as shown in the above image.

Follow the path and you’ll reach the artifact location.

Artifact of Sacrifice

To get the Artifact of Sacrifice, head to the Magma Barracks (variants 1, 2, 3) and look for three buttons. They are in different locations around the map and all of them are behind walls. Due to that, it’s important to use a weapon with long reach, such as a hammer.

Artifact of Command

If you want all Risk of Rain Returns artifacts, the next step is Command. To get your hands on the Artifact of Command, navigate to the Hive Cluster area (variants 1, 2, 3). On the top right of the map, there will be multiple vines that keep vanishing every few seconds.

With proper timing, jump on them and at the end of the path, you’ll see the artifact.

Artifact of Spirit

For the Artifact of Spirit, head to the Temple of the Elders (variants 1, 2, 3). Go to the far right side of the map and jump down while hugging the left wall.

Follow the puzzle by jumping on the platforms and you’ll find the artifact at the end. To make this puzzle easier, consider changing the game scaling from the settings to 2x. The extra zoom will make jumping more accurate.

Artifact of Origin

The Artifact of Origin can be found in the Risk of Rain stage only if you have all the previous artifacts unlocked and equipped. Once you beat Providence, you’ll get the artifact.

Important note: You only need to have the previous artifacts unlocked, not all of them. Thus, you don’t need Dissonance, Prestige, Tempus, or Cognation artifacts.

Artifact of Prestige

To get the Artifact of Prestige, you need to get a Gold Metal on any 15 Providence Trials.

Artifact of Dissonance

To get the Artifact of Dissonance, you must find and assemble its four pieces. They are located in Ancient Valley, Sunken Tombs, Magma Barracks, and Hive Cluster. There is one piece on each map and they can be found only in the new variants (variants 4, 5, 6).

Artifact of Tempus

To get the Artifact of Tempus, head to the Temple of the Elders before 16 minutes have passed.

Artifact of Cognation

Last but not least, you can get the Artifact of Cognation by accessing the Desolate Forest (only Variant 4). Find the vine shown in the image above, go down, and hit the buttons on the right side.

Defeat the summoned golem and the artifact will spawn
