There are 4 hidden Artifact Shards in Risk of Rain Returns to get the Sight-Seeing achievement and here’s how to get all of them.
You can get all four hidden Artifact Shards in RoRR by exploring the four hidden passages in Sunken Tombs, Ancient Valley, Hive Cluster, and Magma Barracks.
Let’s see in detail how to access all these locations since the shards are fairly easy to miss.
All Artifact Shard Locations in Risk of Rain Returns
Keep in mind that there are different variations of each map and not all of them spawn the artifacts in the same location. For this guide, I’ve mentioned in which variations of the maps I was able to find the artifacts.
For the first artifact, head to the bottom left corner of Sunken Tombs. Head to the location in the image above, jump down and hug the left wall. Eventually, you’ll slip into a hidden passage, where the artifact is located.
The second artifact shard is located in the Ancient Valley (variations #5 and #6). Find the large temple near the middle of the map and, on its right side, climb down the hidden rope as shown in the image above to find it.
For the third shard, head to Hive Cluster (variations #5 and #6). On the top of the map, you’ll see it inside a rock. To get there, jump from the right side and hug the left wall, as shown by the arrow in the image above.
Last but not least, the final artifact shard is located in Magma Barracks (variations #4 and #5). It’s inside a rock again. Once you’re at the top of the map, as shown in the image above, jump down following the arrow, and just before reaching the ground, hug the left wall.
Artifact Shards Rewards
With all four hidden Artifact Shards collected in Risk of Rain Returns, you will get the All-Seeing achievement and unlock the Artifact of Dissonance.
This artifact causes monsters to appear outside their usual environments, which is a great way to spice up your gameplay.
Thankfully, you don’t have to collect all shards in the same run to get these rewards.

To summarize, there are four hidden Artifact Shards in Risk of Rain Returns and you can collect all of them by accessing hidden passage in the four areas mentioned above.
As long as you know where to look, these are extremely easy to find (as long as you get the right stage variation) and you’ll be able to get them within a few minutes.
