Remnant 2: Boss Modifiers & Effects [Complete List]

In Remnant 2, Boss Modifiers drastically reshape boss encounters, making each new fight different and potentially more difficult, increasing the replayability, but also the potential frustration factor.

Knowing these Boss Modifiers and especially their effects is essential, as it helps you better prepare for each new encounter. And that’s exactly what we’re talking about today, so let’s jump right into the 20 modifiers that I’ve encountered so far!

Note: The first 11 are core boss effects/modifiers, while the remaining 9 are Aberration Suffixes (enhanced versions of bosses and mini-bosses).

1. Displacer

This modifier forces sudden repositioning by teleporting you into melee range, disrupting your preferred attack rhythm.

2. Drain

The boss will leach health off you with each hit. Having the proper equipment will help a lot – check out the Remnant 2 Shielded Heart Location article for a solid item for this fight.

3. Elemental Resistance

If you use fire, ice, or other elemental attacks, the boss will not get hurt (or damage will be reduced) depending on what powers the boss possesses. To counter this, you have to reconsider your loadout and gear.

4. Empathy

When you heal yourself using a relic, the boss will be healed as well. This means that you have to find other ways for healing to counter this annoying modifier.

5. Enchanter

Another really annoying and dangerous modifier, this one sees the bosses trigger AoE explosions during combat.

6. Hearty

The Hearty boss modifier makes the boss stronger and tougher.

7. Regenerator

As the name suggests, this one sees the boss regain health during the fight.

8. Skull Cracker

The boss will deal more damage with their hits, but can also stun/stagger your character.

9. Spiteful

With this effect active, the boss will deal more damage as their health gets lower.

10. Unstoppable

The boss becomes immune to stagger effects: bosses with this modifier cannot be disrupted by your crowd-control moves.

Having solid, traditional weapons helps in this case – check out the Best Weapons to Unlock Early article we’ve published to know what to focus on.

11. Vicious

With this modifier active, bosses will deal more damage to your character.

12. Shocking

The boss sends lightning attacks close to you, the best choice is to dodge them.

13. Teleporter

The boss can vanish and reappear randomly, disrupting their predictable patterns.

14. Vortex

Vortex pulls you closer to the boss at random times, making it more difficult to keep your distance.

15. Thick Skin

This makes the bosses more difficult to defeat, as their weak spots are protected and you deal less damage to them.

16. Root Grab

The boss summons roots that trap you if you step on them.

17. Swarm

The boss brings in a bunch of rats to join the fight, making the fight more difficult (and a lot more chaotic) due to the hordes of extra enemies.

18. Minions

Similar to Swarm, this modifier sees bosses summoning additional monsters that you will have to deal with during fights.

19. Waller

Creating walls on the battlefield, this modifier blocks your sight and reduces your movement.

20. Bursting

Random explosions will trigger on the battlefield during fights against bosses with this modifier.

And these are the 20 potential modifiers you’ll encounter when fighting bosses in Remnant 2. If you have additional questions, let me know in the comments down below.
