Normally, Gallade makes up for its lower stats due to its Mega Evolution. However, Mega Evolutions are not included at the moment in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and there has been no official word by Game Freak about them returning to the game.

While Iron Valiant has higher stats, Gallade received a new ability in Generation 9 called Sharpness. This ability boosts the damage of all slicing moves by 50%. The following moves learned by Gallade are considered slicing moves.

- Night Slash
- Psycho Cut
- Sacred Sword
- Slash
- X-Scissor
Out of all these, the best options for Gallade would be Sacred Sword and Psycho Cut, due to being STAB moves.
