Are you looking to catch one of the most elusive fish in this chill MMORPG? Here’s everything you need to know on how to catch the Giant Goldfish in Palia.
This fish is hard to find and even harder to catch. It requires visiting a specific location and using bait.
In this guide, I will explain how to catch the Giant Goldfish in Palia to help you get your hands on one of the most expensive fish in the game.
If you’re just starting to fish, check out our complete Palia fishing guide which includes many helpful fishing tips to ensure you’re catching everything you want.
How to Catch the Giant Goldfish in Palia
To catch the Giant Goldfish in Palia, you must fish in Kilima Village and Bahari Bay ponds while using glow worms at any time.
Specifically, the best location to find it is the Mirror Pond Ruins on the top left side of the map. It’s right next to the ruins entrance that can be accessed after solving the Open the Door quest in Palia.
Alternatively, I have managed to find it consistently in any pond in the Bahari Bay area. Thankfully, there is no time restriction and this fish can appear both day and night. Also, you don’t need to aim for hotspots necessarily.
As for price, the Giant Goldfish sells for 410 at base rarity and for 615 at quality rarity.
However, you will need to unlock and craft Glow Worm Bait before being able to catch it. Let’s see how to do that.
How to Unlock and Craft Glow Worm Bait
Glow Worm is a bait type in Palia that players can either buy after reaching fishing level 10 or produce after reaching fishing level 7. Specifically, here are all methods to get Glow Worm bait in Palia:
- Fishing Guild Store – After reaching fishing level 10, you can buy Glow Worm from the Fishing Guild Store for 10 Fishing Medals.
- Zeki’s Wondrous Machine – There is a chance to obtain 10x Glow Worms from Zeki’s Wondrous Machine. However, there are over 30 items that you can get and it’s completely random, so the chances are fairly small.
- Glow Worm Farms – After reaching fishing level 7, you can set up your own Glow Worm Farm (buy the blueprint from Einar) and you’ll be able to produce Glow Worms and advanced fertilizers.
Keep in mind that the Glow Worm is the best bait in the game and that’s why it’s so hard to get. However, once you get it, you’ll be able to fish and catch some of the best fish in Palia.
Wrapping up
In conclusion, to get the Giant Goldfish in Palia, you must fish with Glow Worm bait in ponds in Kilma Village and Bahari Bay at any time.
As a reward, you’ll get one of the most expensive fish in the game that you can sell, cook or gift to NPCs.

I was planning on leaving a grumpy comment on how I fish every single Palian day and haven’t gotten it and I am a level nine fisherperson but I just got it. I was at Najuma’s pond (that one she stands at sometimes.) It took a while for me but maybe I pissed off RNGsus.
Luck plays a big part but at least you got it! Thankfully, fishing is an enjoyable process overall so even if it takes a few extra tries, I don’t mind.
