Pacific Drive: How to Repair Car

If you want to repair your car in Pacific Drive, this guide will go through everything you need to know about parts and repair methods.

There are various methods to repair your car, and the recommended one varies based on which part is damaged and how much HP it has left.

To help you use your resources properly, let’s go through everything in detail.

To repair your car, use the scan feature to find out which parts are damaged and how much durability they’ve lost. As long as a part’s durability isn’t past the red bar, you can repair it with the following items, depending on which part you’re referring to:

  • Repair Putty: Works in any damaged part and will increase its durability by a set amount, depending on the part (doors and plates are repaired fully, while tires and the engine are repaired only by 20-30%). However, it is inefficient if a part is only slightly damaged since it will still use the entire Repair Putty to repair it.
  • Sealing Kit: Repairs holes and cracks in your tires and windshield
  • Electrician’s Kit: Repairs shortened circuits and other engine or light issues
  • Battery Jumper: Used to fix engine issues
  • Mechanic’s Kit: Works in any part and has similar usage to the Repair Putty
  • Blow Torch: Works in any part, but instead of consuming the entire item per use, it uses durability. Thus, it’s more efficient for repairing parts that are only slightly damaged.
  • Matter Regenerator: Slowly repairs parts placed inside (can be unlocked from the Fabrication Station)
  • Repair Station: End-game upgrade that automatically repairs the HP of damaged parts.

Keep in mind that your car can also malfunction at any point. If that happens, use the scan tool to check which part malfunctioned and use the right tool, as mentioned above, to fix it.

How to Replace Parts That Can’t Be Repaired

When a part’s durability bar goes past the red point, you cannot repair that part anymore and will need to get a replacement. Eventually, all parts will need to be replaced since you can’t repair them indefinitely.

To replace a part, you will need to progress through the game until you can craft the Liberator. This allows you to completely detach parts and replace them with other ones.

Lastly, I highly recommend upgrading to high-tier car parts as soon as you can since they’ll need to be repaired less often and will make your life easier.

Wrapping up

To summarize, you can repair your car in Pacific Drive by using the scanner to see which part is damaged and then using the right tool or station depending on the part, its durability, and what you have unlocked so far.

If you just want a quick answer, you can use the Repair Putty for any part. Even though it isn’t the most efficient method in every scenario, it’s extremely convenient.
