The best base layout in Mind Over Magic should include a School Room, a Classroom, a Dining Hall, a Bedroom, a Gardening Room, and a Medical Room. Let’s explain how to place them and what to add to each room.

First, start with a School Room, which will also be the entrance to your school and include all the necessary crafting stations. In the middle of the room, set up a Spiral Staircase and then place around it the following items:

  • Wand Shaper
  • Arcane Secretary
  • Blue Brazier
  • Multiple Blue Wall Torches (to prevent Voidshroom from spawning)
  • Echantophone
  • Gruel Pot

The room next to the School Room should be a Classroom with a Learning Stone. This room can be fairly small to save space since you don’t need to place any other items. Later in the game, you can convert the classroom into an Auditorium.

Next to the Classroom place the Dining Room. You only need a dining table there, but this should also be your storage room for the early game. Place chests all around the room’s edges without blocking the main path.

Heading back to the first School Room, go up with the Spiral Staircase we placed and place a Bedroom above it. Fill this room with beds and some Wall Torches.

Next to the bedroom on the upper floor, create an outside area with Gutberry Planters to produce food. Eventually, you’ll replace this with any other room you need and place the planters outside. However, for now, it’s better to keep them nearby.

Lastly, next to the Gardening area and above the Dining area, place another School Room, which will be a Medical Room with at least three Medical Beds. Three beds are enough for the early game, but you’ll need to expand it later.
