Military Incremental Complex is the perfect game for today’s unfortunate reality: produce weapons, keep fear levels high and make as much money as possible. While straightforward in concept, progress proves to be difficult after you get your first few Prestige points… and I am here to help with that.
Today, I am sharing a bunch of Military Incremental Complex tips and tricks to help you improve your strategy, make more money and produce those Prestige points without spending an eternity waiting to be able to get the next one. Let’s jump right in!
Your first few runs
If you’re just starting to play, your first 2-3 runs (up to 7-8 Prestige points) will be relatively easy and they will only take a few hours, without you truly feeling that you hit a wall. And you have plenty of solid options to put your points into (more on this a bit later).
My first few three resets only got me to 7 Prestige points (if I could’ve gotten 1 more, I would’ve unlocked Tier 3 Prestige options – but you can still do relatively well without those, so if getting the next point seems too much of a challenge, 7 is enough).
You can see in the image above the way I invested my Prestige points for these few runs – and getting to 9 was a breeze. The real challenge started afterward, when I noticed that using the same strategy doesn’t work anymore.

Hitting the wall

In my case, it was after my 4th (or maybe 5th) reset, when it seemed that nothing I did even budged the income I was generating toward reaching the next goal. If you truly mess up things like I did, by sticking to the poor Prestige bonus options and Research upgrades, accept the loss and restart even if you have 0 prestige points.
I spent around 8 hours hoping to be able to switch things around and I never could. It’s strange to see this level of brutality in a game released today, but I am happy that we still have these games that truly punish our mistakes.
It is frustrating, yes, because we’re used to seeing constant progress… but be realistic and restart, trying a new strategy if that doesn’t work.
How to invest those prestige points
The screenshot above shows the right way to invest your first 7 points – progress is smooth by this point, and the games seems like a breeze.
But if you want to get more in-depth with this, I have created this guide to Prestige, telling you exactly how to invest your points to maximize your profits and improve the gameplay (adjustable based on your strategy).
Change of strategy after Prestige 9
My big mistake after getting 9 prestige points was to consider trying the manual production income boost for weapons, without changing anything else. While this is, in theory, a great addition, in reality, it sucks.
That is because as soon as you switch from manually producing items to automated production, the bonuses are slowly starting to decline, making this time consuming (to max out the bonuses) and useless for the long term.
But this could be golden if you need just a bit more to get that next prestige point. Here’s how to use this:
- when you have a ton of weapons hoarded, switch to manual production, max out the price, and start selling (ideally with fear maxed out and as many Golden Weapons of that type unlocked as possible). That extra boost might give you the additional push you need to get the next Prestige Point.
But if you anticipate a relatively easy run (or want to make more money passively), I recommend staying away from manual production bonuses.
But with Prestige 9, I recommend changing strategy from those manual boosts to getting more permanent ones, like Think Tank or Sale Sign Twirling and combine that with research boosts… which gets us to the next point.

Research Matters

Research progress is, in most cases, what truly makes the difference between being stuck and getting a new Prestige Point (or more). There are a few important Research milestones that, once hit, increase your progress like crazy:
- selling more ammo (as you generate more per second)
- unlocking new weapons (since you can choose to double or multiply the price of existing ones, giving you another massive boost per second)
When it comes to research, you can try to tinker it and influence it a bit manually, but in general, I just let them do their job and strive to make research as fast as possible. You want to get to Jeeps ASAP for either the income boost or for unlocking the new weapon you can sell for top dollars.

TIP: If a run seems extremely difficult due to unlocking new products, switch to boosting the revenue of new ones instead of unlocking.
This will give you the push you need for that extra Prestige point, but keep in mind that the game is actually designed to unlock those new items, as future research will still focus on them, no matter if you have them unlocked or not.
Resource production (aka mining)

Automating everything is the goal in Military Incremental Complex, because otherwise you get lost trying to manually click everything.
Fortunately, after the first few runs, you will get the chance to unlock the research that show you how many materials your mines produce (or lose) per second, making it easy to manage them.
So simply look at your production and buy more mines of the type you are on the red with. Make sure that you always double check those numbers with each new automation purchased (as this increases consumption).
IMPORTANT: Keep in mind to re-enable automated production if your materials reach zero (after sorting them out). Automated production won’t restart on its own, and if you’re not careful, you can lose a ton of ammo this way.
Golden weapons, auto selling & prices
Auto selling, once unlocked, is also important as it helps you generate income constantly, while still letting weapons pile up. I always keep it on while letting the game run in the background and I recommend you to do the same – you won’t get a ton of money this way, but anything extra’s welcome.
Golden weapons are also very important, as they boost the final sale price of each ammo type. There is a limit on the boost, but generally, you should try to click as many golden weapons as you can before you start selling.
Combine that with a maxed-out fear rate (for an added bonus) and any maxed-out manual production bonus (if you start with those), and you will always generate the maximum amount of coins, making progress a lot easier.
So always max out the prices of the specific ammo type you want to sell before manually selling it.
The stock market

The stock market is self-explanatory, with one important thing to keep in mind: when you privatize it, you reset all the bonuses you had unlocked and even though you generate slightly more money per second, getting back to unlocking all those bonuses will be a lot more expensive.
Therefore, before Privatizing, make sure that you have enough money to buy up to a few levels of upgrades afterwards, in order to keep everything running smoothly.
Then aim to max them out ASAP and let them run like that to enjoy all the benefits before you afford another Privatize. Rinse and repeat.
The Fear Meter

The Fear meter is essential to maximizing profits in the game, so make sure to keep it at least at around 85% constantly – and try to get it to 99% whenever you start selling manually.
Eventually, you will unlock research that gives you some Fear meter clicks, but you should still try to do it manually and always keep it up to the highest possible levels.
Keep the game running
Since this is not an idle game, I recommend keeping the game running in a window in the background, and getting back to it every 15 minutes or so to buy a few more upgrades, unlock research and whatnot.
While you won’t make a lot passively, it’s more money than hard quitting the game. Then… just be patient, keep on unlocking research and… have fun!
