The Minecraft Jenny Mod started out as a fan-made project that adds NPCs designed to give players a “girlfriend experience.” The project rebranded to LustCraft recently and targets Minecraft 1.20.1, also delivering plenty of updates.
Keep in mind that this is not an official Mojang or Microsoft product and it is quite NSFW.
You’ve probably seen it pop up on YouTube reviews, memes, or Reddit threads, and this is why you’re curious to find out more about it.
This article is the perfect place to learn more about the Minecraft LustCraft Mod (aka Jenny Mod), no matter if you’re an adult player or a parent wondering whether or not it’s a safe mod for their children to play. (Short answer: No, it’s not for players under the age of 18!).
How the Jenny Mod Works
Once installed, the mod adds custom NPCs to improve your game’s experience. You can interact with them by offering gifts like gold, diamonds, or emeralds. At first, they behave like companions, following you around and joining your adventures.
As the relationship progresses, the game unlocks more interactions, and this is where things will become unsafe for kids and younger players. But for those who want this expansion to the game, it sure is one that takes away the boredom (although there are many safe-for-work things to do in Minecraft when bored…)
Anyway, back to the mod, it’s worth noting that Jenny isn’t the only character you can meet. Others exist, with unique mechanics like magic attacks and other unique interactions. Still, they all follow the same gameplay loop at their core.
Why Parents Should Pay Attention
The Jenny Mod is not available in the Minecraft Marketplace. You’ll only find it on third-party forums, websites, and file-sharing platforms. That’s risky because shady sites sometimes disguise malware and viruses as the mod.
Don’t touch .exe or .msi “installers.” Real mod files are .jar, .zip, or .mcaddon, depending on edition and loader. If you see download pages that feel spammy or start push-notifying random “updates,” bounce.
If your kid is into Minecraft and you’ve heard them mention Jenny, it’s worth having a chat about mod safety and age-appropriate content. Mods are a fantastic way to expand Minecraft, but they should always come from trusted sources.
Again: this mod is NSFW. It’s not something younger players should install.
LustCraft 1.20.1 – The New Jenny Mod
As mentioned in the intro, the mod has recently rebranded as LustCraft. It’s still unofficial, but the project has gone way beyond its original scope. The new name is meant to give it a fresh identity.
This rebuild targets Minecraft 1.20.1, since newer Forge versions (1.21+) remain unstable for development. It’s described as a full compatibility update and rebuild.
And if you’re curious to learn about all the characters it introduces, I have a full list here (with details and everything else you should know).
Major Changes in LustCraft
The team has introduced AI systems and NSFW scene logic. Characters don’t just stand around anymore – they think, react, and interact. The goal is to make them feel alive and responsive, so the mod goes beyond simply offering you a way to have some never-before-seen type of fun in Minecraft.
Optimization and UI work are also in progress, with visual improvements already being tested. Here’s the current snapshot (v0.0.41):
- Full compatibility with Minecraft 1.20.1
- Jenny NPC with AI-driven movement, idle behavior, and item recognition
- Reactions to curiosity triggers and playful easter eggs
- First scene logic with cooldowns and animation testing
- Advanced error handling systems
- Not implemented: Dialogue branching system (coming in v0.0.42)
- Not implemented: Multiplayer safety framework (planned for v0.0.50)
Note: only version 0.0.12 is available for supporter testing right now. Build 0.0.41 is internal only. And if you want to better prepare for the challenge, I recommend looking at the Best FREE Minecraft Skins to Download Today.
Multiplayer, servers, and bans
This content is built for single-player. Servers can ban you for running client mods they don’t allow. Adult content gets extra scrutiny, and Mojang has previously cracked down on similar stuff and related server types.
LustCraft/Jenny is not official. Mojang’s Usage Guidelines govern branding and community behavior, and third-party servers can set stricter rules (and enforce them). Marketplace distribution is off the table. If you host, you’re responsible for your server’s rules and region laws
Safe for work alternatives if you just want a companion vibe
Want relationship or follower while keeping the game family-friendly? Try these mods instead:
- MCA Reborn (Minecraft Comes Alive) – deeper villager interactions, personalities, marriage, family systems. Fabric/Forge/Quilt. Download this mod here.
- CustomNPCs-Unofficial – create and script your own NPCs, quests, shops, behaviors. Forge/Fabric/NeoForge, 1.20.1 supported. Great for single-player RPG vibes. Download here.
These scratch the “companions” itch without crossing into 18+ content. And if you’re looking for even more ways to mod Minecraft into an even more unique experience, take a look at our article sharing the BEST Realistic Minecraft Shaders Mods, or the 5 Best Mods for Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
Final Thoughts
The Jenny Mod, now LustCraft, isn’t for everyone – that’s pretty obvious by now. But it is an interesting project that adults will probably want to try, especially now that it mixes improved AI-driven NPCs with the original content.
