This is more easily done on the lowest difficulty with forgiving mode, but can also be completed in the hardest difficulty to get the Ironman achievement too.

Best Merc to Get the Lone Wolf Achievement in Jagged Alliance 3
To get the Lone Wolf achievement in Jagged Alliance 3, players will need to complete the campaign with only one merc. Due to that, it’s essential to find out the best merc in the game for solo gameplay.
Overall, the best solo merc in JA3 is Ivan Dolvich as he can get +3 Action Points after every kill and can win a fight single-handedly. Use the Shotgun weapon and perks like Breach and Clear, Shock Assault, Frogleaping, and Untraceable and you’ll be able to clear entire areas on your own.
The main setback is that Ivan has an extremely low mechanical skill attribute, so you won’t be able to repair weapons. Additionally, his Medical attribute is low. To make up for it, I recommend using the Rage perk.
Make sure to focus only on the campaign and skip any side quests. The toughest fight you’ll have to go through is when facing the Major in A20. Stock up on explosives from the underground grotto in C20 and make sure you’re rested before the fight.
Alternatively, another great merc to help you get the Lone Wolf achievement is Blood, who focuses on stacking grit and prioritizes CQC encounters. His talents give him amazing mobility and combined with his already high survivability, he’ll be able to clear all fights without trouble.

If your goal is only to get the Lone Wolf achievement in Jagged Alliance 3, use the following settings:
- Difficulty: First Blood
- Forgiving Mode: On
- Dead is Dead: Off
- To the Bitter End: Off
- Lethal Weapons: Off
Alternatively, if you want to get the Ironman achievement too, select the following settings:
- Difficulty: Mission Impossible
- Forgiving Mode: Off
- Dead is Dead: On
- To the Bitter End: On
- Lethal Weapons: On
Keep in mind that this will make the run significantly harder and you’ll need to be careful with every decision.
If you want the ultimate challenge, try aiming for the Time is Money achievement too, which requires finishing the campaign before 1 May 2001. This will require running through the campaign and skipping all optional missions.
