Choosing the best team combination in Honkai Star Rail is essential if you want to clear some of the game’s hardest content.
While the best team will depend on the opponents’ weaknesses, there are some fairly flexible options that can deal with every enemy.
In this guide, I will showcase the five best team combinations in Honkai Star Rail, including one free-to-play option focused on characters that are easy to obtain.

Best Team Comps in Honkai Star Rail
While the best team will depend on the opponent you’re facing and their weaknesses, some teams manage to stand out regardless.
The best team combinations include 1-2 DPS characters, 1 Healer or Tank, and 1-2 Support Buffers or Debuffers.
Here are the five best team comps in Honkai Star Rail.
5. Bronya – March 7th – Himeko – Clara
Clara’s passive allows her to cast a counterattack whenever she is attacked. While enemies have an increased chance of targeting her, it’s not high enough, and more often than not they’ll end up targeting someone else.
However, March 7th’s shield also increases the chances of the shielded target getting attacked. By shielding Clara, enemies will almost always attack her and Clara will take them down with her Counter.
Himeko offers some much-needed Fire damage and AoE, while Bronya buffs your party’s damage.
4. Asta – Bronya – Pela – Seele
This team focuses on dealing as much damage as possible in one hit. Use Asta’s Skill to activate her Talent, Bronya’s Ultimate and Skill on Seele, and Pela’s Ultimate. This will buff Seele’s damage significantly, while also debuffing enemies.
If done in the right order, you’ll be able to see some exceptionally high damage numbers when Seele uses her Ultimate or Skill.
3. Dan Heng – Natasha – Asta – Trailblazer (Fire)
This is the best free-to-play (F2P) team since you’ll unlock Asta in your first few Warps. Dan Heng is the main DPS while Asta buffs him even further.
The Trailblazer ensures your allies won’t get attacked, while Natasha keeps everyone alive.
2. Himeko – Herta – Asta – Bailu
Himeko and Herta offer the best combination for follow-up attacks in Honkai Star Rail, thus allowing you to take down waves of enemies without any effort.
Asta offers great single-target damage, while also buffing Himeko’s Fire DMG by 18% with her Ignite ability.
Lastly, Bailu is the best healer in the game and should be used in any team if you have her. In case you don’t have Bailu, Natasha is a solid option.
1. Yanqing – Serval – Natasha – Trailblazer (Fire)
Yanqing’s main kit focuses on significantly increasing his damage whenever he uses his Ultimate by gaining a buff. However, that buff is lost whenever he takes any damage.
Due to that, the Trailblazer (Fire) is an ideal combo, as his/her skill can take the aggro from enemies.
Just make sure to position Trailblazer (Fire) on one corner of your party (4th slot) and Yanqinng on the other (1st slot), to avoid getting damaged by AoE attacks.
Serval and Natasha are the best free-to-play options for this team, but I highly recommend replacing Serval with Tingyun or Bronya if you have the option. This will significantly buff Yanqing’s damage and allow you to take down any enemy.
Wrapping up
In conclusion, these are the five best team comps in Honkai Star Rail.
